• The person requiring the signature must retain the documents for the specified amount of time. Even though these documents are online, in a secure form of course, that does not mean they can’t “disappear”. It’s also a good idea as the person signing the documents to have a way to print out your own copy just in case. Also, save it in a safe place on your computer just in case something happens. Now you have two ways to retrieve the document if necessary.

When you upload a document to sign online, there are a few ways the particular software you use will allow you to sign. One way is to sign on the line or in the box by typing your name. In some cases, the software will allow you to choose a font that displays your name as an actual signature. Others will leave it in text form. If the software you choose allows for it and you have a touchscreen computer, you could actually use your finger to sign the document.
