Good content comes from difference sources. Whether you get inspiration online or offline, cataloging the ideas that make the most impact is essential. If making new content for your audience becomes difficult, there are plenty of failsafe sources to meet your needs.

3. FAQS

A FAQ answers the most common questions. But what about questions that are infrequent and still unanswered? A little research can lead you to a treasure trove of unanswered questions still waiting for someone with authority to complete. When you’re the first, it creates new engagement while bringing in brand new visitors to your content. 

4. Google News

Google News pulls from a lot of great sources, and is always up to date. If you want a cheat sheet for trending news with no bias, count the number of sources for each headline on Google News. The more headlines you count, the hotter the topic will be if you can get the content out in time. 

5. Metrics

Metrics will always be your go-to for new content. Do you have a topic or category that gets more attention than the others? Or an article that does better in the search rankings but doesn’t spark many conversations? Use metrics to find and create new content that also serves as an improvement over your existing content. 

6. Trade Shows

You’re not going to get far without a bit of networking! Trade shows provide valuable information that can point you in the right direction for new content. They are also the perfect source when you want to create content that talks about the industry’s current state. 

7. Social Media Trending

This is the most common-sense way to get topics, but be wary since it is also the most used. Speed is the answer to optimizing social media as a content creation tool. Even an hour makes a difference, so having a way to get automatic notifications will give you a slight push over the competition.

Consistency is the name of the game when it comes to content creation. If you understand the importance of the flow, there will always be something new to write about. Stay ahead of the game, and your competition will start to follow your lead.
