Twitter Teamtrump Potusmorsemashable: What the heck is going on with this guy? All we know is he posts on his Twitter account almost constantly, and he has a few thousand followers who follow him for reasons that are still largely unknown to us. Some observers speculate that maybe Trump’s Twitter habits are a way to distract from the embarrassing probe into various Russian ties that brought some of Trump’s associates closer to him than they ever should have been. Others say that maybe this is just how he did things in his previous career as a reality star, and now that he’s actually got to be President of the United States it’s just second nature. We’ll likely never know what’s going through his mind while he types away furiously on Twitter at all hours of the night, but one thing’s for sure: this guy definitely likes to post a lot.

1. He’s a Real Social Media Darling
According to the latest Arbitron ratings, Trump has a 96% social media audience. That’s pretty impressive for a guy who never really made his Twitter presence known before this election. He started tweeting in 2007 and has been active ever since, averaging almost two tweets per day — 1,817 tweets to be exact. It looks like Trump has more than enough fans to spread his message all over the world, and some of them even turn out to be quite literally following him around the globe. According to records from social media analytics site SocialBakers, Trump has 6 million followers across six different social networks, which is about a little over half of his total population of 11.8 million. Trump also keeps one of the most active Twitter accounts in the world, so he’s certainly on the fast track to being included on that list.
2. He Has Some Serious Stature
Some of Trump’s followers aren’t just on Twitter, they’re at a respectable distance away. He has 17 million YouTube subscribers, and there are about 2.4 million people who visit his Facebook page every day. There’s also a significant number of people that like his Instagram page, including lots of celebrities with huge followings from all over the world, like Hulk Hogan and Rosie O’Donnell. It’s not only celebrities that have connections to Trump via Twitter– he’s got more than 1.4 million followers on Reddit, and over 6 million people who follow him on Instagram.
3. He Participated in a Twitter War
No, not the kind of war where you try to convince people that they’re wrong or they might be wrong– this is the kind of war where you actually get into it with other people in real life. In 2013, Trump went at it with Bette Midler on Twitter over the topic of Sarah Palin’s candidacy for Vice President. According to Vice , Midler thought that Palin was a “worthy successor” to President Barack Obama, and took issue with people who were praising her for being a potential Secretary of Defense — saying she was “a joke.” Trump replied to Midler and explained why he thought Obama would be an excellent choice as the next American leader.
4. He’s Nobody’s Fool
People might not know whether or not Trump is actually serious about what he says on Twitter, but if you’re going to be on Twitter you might as well be a little satirical and have a good time. This tweet from Trump was probably just meant to be a joke, but we can’t help feeling as though he has some of his own personal views about climate change hidden within this post.
5. He’s a Real Troll
Trump’s trolling is actually what he’s been doing for years, according to The Huffington Post . Trump once said publicly that he had fake people manufactured to serve as his own supporters during the 2016 election. This could have been a joke, but it’s also possible that he might not be joking at all. It could be exactly how much of his social media following was built, and if we’re being honest with ourselves, it wouldn’t be the most ridiculous thing we’ve heard in this election cycle.
