Marketing, not as it sounds, is a much broader entity that when an individual wants to go in to.

There is a need to circumspectly choose your marketing company as it is more of an enterprise, strategic, logical yet simple system.

Marketing is not just communication, that is where most of those marketing companies get it wrong. They promote themselves as a marketing company network, meanwhile, in the actual sense; they’re just an end-to-end means of communicating or exposing products to end-users.

Tip 1  – Know the difference. 

What difference?

The difference between a marketing agency and a marketing consultant.

A marketing agency will be more focused and more concerned about communications, he would channel his energy to a rebranding of products, brochures, building websites, online advertisements, social media exposure, sponsored post and all that.

However, a marketing consultant, on the other hand, will focus more energy into helping you find out the problems you need to solve to get your market products to the other side; the “who” wants to buy your products; the “what” they want to buy or what they are interested in; the “why” they want to buy the products; the place, that is the “where” they want to buy the products, the “when” which is the time they want to buy and how they’re interested in getting your products to their side.

Clearly, the difference between a marketing consultant and the marketing agents is there.

Tip 2 — Should you choose a Marketing Agent over Consultant? Or otherwise?

Would you want your products to be visible but not accessible? Or otherwise? Whichever way, both option given above is beside the point. The product needs to be seen by people and be reached by people. Therefore, you need both and agents and a consultant in your marketing service.

Tip 3 — Too much Into Themselves. Red Sign.

Take note! Take note! Some marketing companies would come to you and present themselves for about 45 minutes of the hour they have to use with you. They keep advertising themselves telling you how great they are. This kind of company, more often than not, market themselves and big products, and that is what exactly they will do out there.

Good Marketing companies should come to you and ask about your products or services; about you, probing into you and getting more and more information and also discussing how they are going to channel their distribution!

Tip 4 — Are they there to help you make money or make money out of you.

Another red flag is when a marketing company arrives and immediately start suggesting you invest in one of their products services and all that.

This is a red sign because they did not know about your business yet and they are just wanting to make money out of you and not help trade your products.

A good marketing company should not be recommending products on their first date, while it’s not guaranteed, this might just be a red sign.

Tip 5 – Are they experienced in your products or baby-marketing similar products to similar clients?

if they have the same experience or similar success stories, this is a sign that they already have your audience at hand and they will know the pathway to distribute your product, and this may lead to a tremendous outburst in your sales!

Although, but certainly, it is a sign that they have the same experience or similarities and the know-how to channel their distribution. So do well to check to see if they have been marketing a similar product before and that may be a green light to sign in with them.

Tip 6 — Check if they talk about how much you’re willing to invest in the business to win a client.

If they do, that means they are also concerned about your (ROI) Return On Investment and that is a good sign to click with.

It shows that they are accountable and they have a map of how much and how well they want to cook themselves with you but if they do not, well, you never can tell, that is not too good.

Tip 7 — Do they talk about their former campaign? Their success stories?

Their former clients who had once had a lot of sales for their advertisements? if they do that is a good sign and if they do not ask for their testimonials.

Tip 8 — Request Contacts. Not Paper Testimonials.

Now when you question their testimony, do not request for physical credentials, paperwork, printed document or sort. Tell them to give you direct contact email or phone numbers of those who had once worked with them, who has one product with them and call them to enquire about them. Know more about them and get detailed information being careful about your enquiries.

Tip 9 — How much do they ask you.

Do they ask about your ultimate objectives? Goals? Sales? Business patterns? Prospects and do on.

Good Marketers should ask about all these, it shows they’ve come to stay and work with you.

Tip 10 — Do you understand their language?

Marketing has zero difficulties. If a marketer appears before you in jargon, S/he is likely unsure of himself.
