They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Anastasia Yarrow always sees beauty in the world and in the people around her. Now, she’s making a career doing what she loves best and she couldn’t be happier.
Anastasia graduated from Sheridan College in Oakville in 2000 after completing both the Makeup and Aesthetics Course, followed by teaching Aesthetics at night school there.
Anastasia started her career in the industry by working at an upscale salon in Oakville, ON for almost 10 years. After her youngest daughter started Kindergarten, she decided to take her passion for beauty and vision to deliver celebrity-worthy looks to the next level, by opening up her own home salon.
“I worked tirelessly, going door-to-door handing out flyers that I had created, in the hopes of really promoting my new business venture,” she says. “I didn’t know who would ever come to me, but I was determined to make this vision a reality. It was definitely a hustle, but well worth it in the end.” Says Anastasia.
After enjoying several years of success as a home-based salon, Anastasia reached a point where she knew she had to figure out the next steps for her business. Working from home wasn’t enough anymore: she couldn’t fit all aspects of her busy life in, and she felt she had more she wanted to offer.
This is where The Fix 299 was born. At first she was unsure about if she would be able to open up her new location, but after working extremely hard the gamble was worth the payoff and she loved it.
Anastasia continues to amplify her expertise through additional training and certifications and opened up her very own academy. The Fix academy is always growing and currently offers online courses for eyebrow lamination and eyelash lifts.
Her education in brow artistry began in Los Angeles with celebrity eyebrow legend and grow guru, Kelley Baker. Then receiving her microblading certification from Lash Forever and her Ombré brow certification from Brow Beauté Academy. She has also spent some time studying brow artistry in New York City – the epicenter for fashion design and education.
