The EU has concluded trade agreements with a number of countries. So you may get a mutual reduction or exemption from import duties. Rules apply to this. A Eur 1 certificaat aanvragen may only be used as proof for goods that actually originate from the EU. These are also referred to as goods with the preferential origin.
A EUR.1 document is not mandatory, but in many cases offers the buyer financial benefits, namely reduced or zero import duties. If you are going to export to a country with which agreement has been reached, we will simply arrange the export declaration and request the EUR.1 certificaat on your behalf.
Do you personally import from a country with which you have an agreement? In that case, ask if your supplier can attach a EUR.1 certificaat to the shipment in order to obtain a reduction or exemption from import duties on import.
