They say that blogging is dead. It is too hard these days to make money because every niche topic is already saturated. New mommy bloggers for instance are having a hard time these days since there are so many.
And if you are blogging and nobody can find your blog because it’s buried in the search results, then what chance does a new blogger have?
Well, there is still a lot of money to be made by blogging. It’s just that what used to work no longer works for most. SEO has gotten much harder and social media is also very difficult to do successfully.
You just have to keep a couple of things in mind. With that said, let’s take a look at some of the things that you have to run a successful online business in the blogging world.
Table of Contents
1 – Focus on a sub niche
To make money blogging, you have to find a topic in which people are willing to spend money. This is tricky, because many topics or niches are already very saturated. This doesn’t mean you can’t make money in those niches, you just have to narrow your focus.
Take bitcoin, for instance. If you make a general blog about cryptocurrency you’re going to struggle. But if you focus on smaller topics within the cryptocurrency area, then you can make money.
Pick helpful topics in small markets that are not finding their needs met by the larger bloggers. Like BTC price in Pakistan, for instance.
2 – Google wants authorities
There are so many bloggers out there that start a website and then just copy what they are finding from other websites. Google knows this and won’t rank those posts from a blog that doesn’t have any authority. They want an actual expert.
Now Google’s crawler has no idea if the topic you are writing about is accurate or if you are an actual expert. So they look for other clues. If you also have a solid social media presence within that niche then this is a signal. Add a Youtube channel that is growing with lots of subscribers and Google feels this means that you are providing helpful information. A successful podcast has the same effect.
Make sure to build a brand around you and the topic at hand and this will let Google know to take your content seriously and rank it higher than other blogs that don’t have those things going for them.
3 – Build an email list
There is money in the list. So, this is where you are going to need to focus. Any social media platform, blog or Youtube channel should all be towards the goal of building your email list. You have total control over it and have an audience of people that want the information that you are providing.
They trust you and will spend money according to your recommendations. Curate your email list content and watch your income rise as a result.
