In a Nutshell: Protein Powder for Women

Protein is referred to as one of the essential nutrients our body needs every day. Generally, we need it to ensure proper growth and development. It builds our muscles that help us move, and it provides structure, strength, and support to the body. Proteins also take action to repair the body when it wears and tears. On average, women with little to no exercise need 46 grams of protein daily, more so if they were more physically active.

Your body can only produce some proteins, and the rest need to be supplied by your diet. Some foods rich in protein are fish, lean meat (meaning, low in fat), eggs, milk, beans, and nuts.

But what if you were a busy woman who does not have the luxury of time to prepare a well-balanced meal? What if you prefer quick and convenient forms of food without sacrificing the nutrients? Luckily, protein powder for women is available, and it is not exclusive to buff men as one would imagine.

Losing weight

Protein powders are made by extracting proteins from different animal or plant-based sources. There are also various ways on how to process them. Nonetheless, women can greatly benefit from protein powders, especially if they regularly exercise or if they were a bodybuilder. But protein does not necessarily equate to bulking up – it helps to form lean muscles, thus giving the semblance of a strong and healthy woman, rather than one who is stocky or even overweight.

A wonderful advantage of using protein powder is its potential for losing weight. You know how hard it is to avoid delicious meals or snacks. It’s difficult to say no to temptation when you suddenly feel like eating. But incorporating protein powder to your diet may help you stop this habit since protein promotes satiety or the feeling of fullness. Moreover, you can experiment with the different preparations of protein powder for women, such as turning it into protein shakes.

Promotes strong hair

Protein is also abundant in our hair, nails, and skin. The hair and the nails comprise the protein keratin, while the skin contains the protein collagen. Keratin and collagen are important to promote and achieve strong, lustrous locks, youthful, blooming skin, and long, fabulous nails.

Prevents chronic diseases

Aside from aesthetics, protein powder for women also helps them prevent chronic diseases. These nutrients were also deemed more suitable for all types of individuals, such as the young and the old, athletes, as well as pregnant and lactating women.

Lowers risk for osteoporosis

Besides, women are more at risk for osteoporosis than men, and women lose muscle with aging. In a featured study involving postmenopausal women who enriched their diet with protein powder and did intermittent resistance training, they were seen with a lowered risk for osteoporosis and muscle loss.

In conclusion, protein powders do not only benefit men but also women. It is a convenient form of nutrition for busy women who are looking for an easy way to supplement their diet with protein. Although it helps to build muscles, it does not automatically mean to bulk up, rather than to look toned and strong. It assists in losing weight and appearing radiant and healthy. Lastly, it may prevent the development of chronic diseases and illnesses associated with aging.
