How to type cent symbols on the keyboard

There are a lot of ways like apps and other stuff out there to type a cent symbol. You can explore such stuff by casual searching and try the things commonly. Here we have described how to use such symbols on both Windows and Mac as well.

In Microsoft Word or Excel or any Microsoft app, you have to use three keys at once as a combination. Just by hitting the “Ctrl” and “/” keys together, and then pressing “C” from your keyboard, you can get a simple and easy way to type a cent symbol.

Moreover, on Mac, it is way more-easy to get a cent symbol. All you need to do is to hit the “Option” key, hold it down and then press the “4” numeric key. A cent symbol will appear.

In addition, you can use the Alt code. In order to use the Alt code, hit the “Alt” key then press the alt code. For instance, the Alt code for “¢” is 0162. In this way, you can type the cent symbols but you have to remember the Alt code or you can search it simply on the Internet.

In case if the Alt code is not working, you should use the numeric keypad to type the numbers. Do not forget to turn on the Num lock key while doing the whole procedure.

If you are typing such symbols from your laptop, it could be more challenging, because there is not a numerical keypad present on a laptop. In this case you guys should use the Function keys instead of numeric keys.

To put a cent symbol on a website the best suggestion is to use the Unicode symbol. There are basically two symbols. This one “¢” is for an ordinary cent symbol and the second one “¢” is for a bold cent symbol.

Why do modern keyboards not include a cent symbol?

The cent symbols suddenly began to vanish from the modern keyboards. The only question that comes to mind is Why? The reason is this currency unit is rarely being used in the prices nowadays.
