Triangle mailer boxes aren’t the most ubiquitous form of packaging out there, but they deserve a lot more attention than they get. They take many of the advantages of traditional shipping tubes while minimizing the hassles that come from cylindrical designs. And they can be used in a wide variety of different situations. Here’s how to use them right and get the most bang for your buck.

  • Use Them For Sensitive Documents
  • Make Sure to Size Them Appropriately
  • Treat Them As a Statement
  • Find the Right Provider

Use Them For Sensitive Documents

Maps, art prints, financial documents, and blueprints have typically been shipped using long cardboard cylinders. Structurally, it makes sense. The lack of edges protects circular tubes well against structural damage, and the fact that papers or parchment can simply be rolled up minimizes the risk of damage.

But the truth is that triangular tubes are actually better choices if you’re worried about documents getting damaged. They can be rolled up like a tube and still slid into a triangular mailer box, but the actual surface of what you’re delivering will only briefly touch along the edges at their strongest point. The three edges minimize weak points while also keeping the interior from coming into contact with the likeliest points of impact.

Make Sure to Size Them Appropriately

Wasted space is wasted money, and it can be easy to get in the habit of just taking one big box and stuffing in the products you’re shipping regardless. It’s an approach that will only increase redundancies and ramp up your shipping costs.

Look for a manufacturer that offers a number of different sizing options, or at least enough options to suit your business in the present and the near future. Don’t let your ambitions get unmanageable, but keep in mind how well a provider’s services scale. Having someone who can shift to your demands on the fly is as important with triangle mailer boxes as it is with other packaging and shipping options.

Treat Them As a Statement

Mailer boxes have been growing a lot in popularity with business, and that’s largely thanks to the meteoric and continuing rise of subscription-based services.  Mailer boxes offer a fun and convenient way to feel like you’re getting treated to a gift, but they’re also easy to assemble and generally tend to be environmentally friendly options.

For many brands, packaging is as much about telling a story and getting your brand out there as it is about delivering an object. It’s about delivering an experience. In other words, mailer boxes are statement pieces, but it’s a statement piece that’s largely come to saturate the larger market.

But mailer boxes are typically shipped in square or rectangular boxes. While we don’t recommend using a triangle mailer box that doesn’t suit the products or the image you’re looking to deliver to the customer, they can help your product stand out from so many similar options on the market. And triangular box models don’t have to be exclusively used for paperwork.

Find the Right Provider

A good box manufacturer will help you put your product and your name front and center in the public eye by offering customization options for triangular boxes. Higher-quality printing and lower volume are going to increase the price per box naturally, but that extra cost will undoubtedly improve the prestige value of your brand.Look for a company that can provide the total package – quality materials, a variety of sizing choices, and a dedicated system for designing your own branding for your packaging. The shape of a box alone won’t sell your product, but triangle mailer boxes can serve as a practical starting point for many business owners.
