Although working for yourself is one of the best feelings in the world, it does come with a lot of stress. In fact, entrepreneurs work around 15 hours more per week than employees.

As a result, it’s very hard to switch off from work. In this article, we’ll look at how to be stress free as an entrepreneur! Let’s get started:

Focus on Sleep Hygiene

Nowadays, we take our phones with us absolutely everywhere. We can’t have a quick bathroom break without checking Facebook let alone fall asleep without first checking our emails.

But, this is the worst thing we can possibly do for your stress levels. Instead of switching off, you’re exposing yourself to blue light and filling your mind with things you need to do.

Even if it seems absolutely impossible, you need to focus on leaving your technology in another room and reading your book an hour before you go to bed.

Alternatively, focus on meditating and practicing yoga before you curl up in bed. Finally, focus on getting 8 hours of sleep!

Say Goodbye to Caffeine

If coffee is the only thing that can wake up in the morning, it’s an indicator that you need better rest. Instead of drinking 5 cups of coffee, focus on switching out your drinks.

Try switching one coffee for a green tea early morning. Then really enjoy your latte before switching to a herbal tea.

Before going to bed, make sure you drink chamomile tea as this is one of the best ways to reduce anxiety and relax. Finally, make sure you drink enough water too!

Eat a Balanced Diet

If you’re an entrepreneur, then you’ll need all the brainpower you can get to make your business a success. You can’t work well if you’ve had McDonald’s for breakfast and Pizza Hut for lunch.

Instead, you need to focus on creating a balanced diet. This should include foods such as:

  • Fruits — berries, bananas, apples, oranges
  • Vegetables — Spinach, kale, broccoli, peas, Brussels sprouts
  • Fatty fish — anchovies, pilchards, salmon, and mackerel
  • Dark chocolate
  • Nuts and seeds

Start a Regular Exercise Routine

You’ve definitely heard this one before. But, it’s very true that regular exercise has huge benefits for your mental health.

For example, it helps you get to sleep at night, reduces anxiety and depression, eases ADHD, and even improves your memory!

If you are struggling with stress, then get up from your desk and go for a walk. Preferably with a friend or a pet.

Make sure you take regular breaks throughout the day to move. Perhaps have some small dumbbells next to the kettle! When you’re waiting for boiling water, pump some reps. In no time, you will notice a difference to your stress levels.

How to Be Stress Free? Make It a Priority

There are many useful tips for living your life stress-free. You simply need to try out a lot of them and figure out which ones suit you and your life best.

Are you a yogi? A meditator? A reader? A journaler? Or, do you simply need to switch off your computer at 5 pm and hang out with the family?
