Dr. Jonathan Kung is more than your average gastroenterologist. He is a true American success story. His background proves that if a person works hard and learns to overcome challenges and hardships, then they can achieve whatever they want in life. The trick is to know how to alleviate stress and deal with obstacles along the way.
Doctor and Athlete
For Jonathan, he likes to train like an athlete to find joy and personal balance in his life. His favorite sports are boxing, basketball, and soccer. When Jonathan is not at the hospital treating patients with gastrointestinal disease, you can find him at the boxing gym laying out combinations on the heavy bag or on the soccer field.
“My career has helped open my eyes to the importance of health and wellness,” said Jonathan. “I’ve seen countless patients who have struggled with their health over the years, so I don’t wish to take my health for granted anymore.” He makes it a habit to go to the gym whenever he gets a break from the hospital. It is what keeps him balanced and focused on his personal goals in life.
Social Media Influencer
Jonathan wishes to share his experiences with other people too. For this reason, he has become very active on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Social media networking has allowed him to connect with groups of people from around the world who suffer from stress and other personal hardships in their lives. Jonathan offers these people free advice on how to find happiness and balance in life.
“The things that helped me achieve personal balance might not be the same for other people,” said Jonathan. “I don’t try to encourage people to train at the gym as a boxer as I do. I simply share my experiences with people so that they can get some ideas on what they might need to do to change their lives. It could be walking outside, riding a bicycle, or pursuing interests that they never tried pursuing before. Everyone has a unique solution to achieving happiness. They just need to do some self-exploration and find what it is.”
Two Loving Parents
Jonathan was very fortunate to have two parents who let him pursue his dreams. Since he always wanted to become a doctor and help other people, his parents supported him in his journey to finish college and complete his medical school training. They wanted a better life for him than they had, which consisted of working low-paying jobs in order to stay afloat.
“My parents were always supportive of my life goals and ambitions,” said Jonathan. “But many people don’t have the same level of support that I had. They need someone in their corner who will encourage them to strive for greater things and achieve as much as they can out of life. That is what I try to do for people through social media networking. It might not be the same as having two parents who encourage you, but it is better than nothing. And for a lot of people out there, it is enough to change their lives.”
Jonathan is most active on his Instagram channel, “jonny_kay.” If he’s not at the hospital, then you will find him there.
