Summer months are here, and the car breakdown troubles are expected. That is because the heat tends to put stress on the tire, engine, battery, and other critical components of the vehicle and with a little attention paid to maintenance, the issues can be aggravated. As a result, the long days and warm weather that are supposed to let you enjoy sunshine-soaked adventures can flip into becoming an unexpected stop.

Here are five main causes of summer car breakdowns –

  1. Blown Out Tires

It is common to land up with flat tires in extremely hot temperatures. That happens because, with rising heat, your tires to expand. And when you drive with these overfilled tires on hot asphalt roads, their friction leads to blowouts. Now, it is not the heat of the road surface alone that causes you such troubles. When the tire is faulty, the car is overloaded, or driving is rash that your chances of blowouts increase significantly.

  1. Overheating

This generally happens with old cars that are made for riding over a long-distance – steam starts to billow out of the hood of your car and there is no way other than pulling over. The culprit could be a leak or other issues in the cooling system. If the coolant is working fine, there could be a clogged/damaged radiator or water pump.

  1. Faulty Battery

Heat can accelerate chemical activity. In fact, any sort of weather extremes evaporate your battery’s vital liquids and weaken its charge. If your battery gets hot enough, it can quicken up the corrosion process for the internal structure of the battery, causing frequent car breakdowns and other sorts of irreversible damage.

  1. Low Oil Pressure

The engine oil in your engine that makes sure that all moving parts within it are lubricated and protected needs a pressure build-up to flow through the openings. However, during hotter days, the oil may not be sufficiently thick and stick well to the moving parts of the engine. As a result, it doesn’t reach all the parts of the engine leading to an engine and then vehicle seizure.

  1. Worn Out Clutches

Anything that increases the load on the clutch also accelerates its wear. That includes things like transporting heavy loads, spinning the tires, and driving on hotter surfaces for long hours. The performance of the clutch can deteriorate adding strain on the mind and body that is exhausting anyway in hot weather.

Call Towing Professional When in Need

Life is highly uncertain, and you can never know what lies ahead on the road when you set on a journey during summers. You may encounter above mentioned issues any time, and when you do, you won’t be able to fix on your own. You would have to consult a mechanic for this purpose. However, to reach to him, you would need an emergency towing hand from an expert company. The trained team would reach with their tow truck service wherever you are stranded and take you to your destination safely.
