“I didn’t know what direction I wanted to go in my career path, however when I read the synopsis of the show, and encountered the character of Leia I fell in love with the show and felt a deep connection to the entire show. My friend actually went to the role before me, and told me: ‘Oh what a surprise! Have you seen this? This is actually you. It’s true that when I read the description of the character I believed it was a description of my own life.”

“It’s very difficult, and it truly is. The difficulty with being an actor is that you cannot make a plan for the future. You must be flexible and ready to prioritize your career. I’ve set up teachers to aid in school, as well as friends from many states I can get to know. I’ve been pretty good in [balancing], but having to leave friends across countries and having to change plans on a regular basis is extremely difficult.”

“Playing the various characters and taking on these characters is interesting. Each time I audition, I have to play an entirely new person and discover her story. I enjoy reading scripts and discovering more about my character after which, when I get her to the camera, I am able to add my own twist on the script and create my own version of her. It’s as if I take on the role of someone else and live their lives for a couple of months.”
Although she loves acting, it comes with some challenges. Haverda talks about the anxiety of being part of a big production, and then how she gets beyond it to dive into the characters she plays.
“I’m always worried about whether I’m doing it wrong’ , whether it’s how I play the role or speaking my lines, but I need to keep in mind that there’s no “right method’ for doing it. There are methods however, as for the character you portray you decide, it is yours to play however you like. Nine times out of 10 the creators would like you to be your own person and transform the character into your own.”

I am very thankful for the many true talents I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp are the most sweet people in the world. They are always there to help me on set , and I learn each day. It was initially difficult to work with and meet legendary actors, however, everyone I’ve worked with has been very kind.”

“It’s difficult to imagine your future as an actor. The thing that I’ve learnt is that you must follow the flow. The perfect job will be offered time and time again, and if I can get it, maybe I’ll be able to do it. However, it could be a different story! A majority of actors are greeted with rejection. The best thing I can do is to keep my professional acting career throughout the time I can to find work.”
In a profession as demanding as acting is a constant source of rejection. Haverda “can make six auditions within a month, and not get a response from her auditions,” but instead of feeling disillusioned, she pushes herself to move forward. “A majority of actors in their early years feel discouraged because they are unable to take on a role. If you’re really enthusiastic about your career, don’t let it go. up! I would look at youngsters younger than me who’s careers were expanding and felt I was lagging behind, but there is always an opportunity for you, regardless of what age you’re at. If you truly want to become an actor, you’ll need to put in an enormous amount of effort and be accustomed to being rejected. It won’t be easy, but when you are finally booked for the role you’ve been waiting for, all your effort will be rewarded and will truly be the most memorable moment of your life.”
