Mobile technology addressing various mental health issues has rapidly advanced in recent years. These technologies are a component of the emerging medical discipline known as mobile health or mHealth. Such mobile technologies are being used to not only support physical but also mental health. Moreover, through these apps, one can easily find the nearest doctors as well as calculate steps and heartbeats, etc. In fact, some apps can even help you call an ambulance in case of an emergency. The mHealth industry is flourishing rapidly, and the general public has embraced a wide range of health-related applications, websites, and text messaging support interventions offered by this sector. However, very few of these technologies have undergone any empirical evaluation; hence, only a few apps can be trusted.

The fact is that state-of-the-art algorithms have helped digital medical technology raise its standard to a great degree. And Boom Journal is one such well-being application that is popular for its impact on the user. This digital wellness company promises to offer guided mindful journaling, training and mindfulness for its users. Boom Journal was created by co-founders Matt West and Matt Cook, who understand the importance of emotional and mental fitness. With a rapidly expanding social media following of over 1 million followers interested in learning new ways to promote mental wellness, the Boom Journal has become a standard mental health app.

Matt West is an American psychologist, podcaster, and co-founder of the app that has taken the well-being technology industry by storm. The main aim behind launching this mental health application was to provide individuals with the tools they need to live fulfilling lives. To put it in simple words, it is a psychological tool to make one’s trip through life coaching academy somewhat more straightforward and less stressful.

After a string of demanding life events, Matt West’s personal experience led to the idea of developing Boom Journal. “I didn’t have a healthy approach to cope with the stress and burnout I was feeling,” West states. “I also realized that there were other people out there who had had difficult life situations and wanted a simple, healthy technique to handle stress. Boom Journal was born out of this need to help individuals find themselves and teach their minds to control their emotions.

Boom Journal co-founders Matt West and Matt Cook reveal, “We hope to destigmatize mental health by reframing the perspective and turning the focus to mental riches with mindful journaling.” Situated in Beverly Hills, Boom Journal has received pre-seed funding from an unnamed source. Before the Coronavirus hit the world, around 7 out of 10 millennials experienced stress. The numbers radically started increasing once the pandemic literally took over our lives. Similar to the various apps that have facilitated mindfulness practice among those affected by COVID-19, Boom has also played a massive part in dealing with pressure and stress by incorporating mindful journaling.

The guided mental wellness feature of Boom Journal aids mind training as a daily mindful diary helps the user develop healthy thought patterns while increasing their positivity and productivity. Boom’s algorithm is designed with strict encryption standards to provide complete privacy and to make the experience simple and interactive. The app user taps a response that includes a series of questions. The growing popularity of diary recording is inevitable, given that written journaling has been clinically related to better mental and emotional health. The worldwide health and wellness industry is predicted to expand by $1.5 trillion between 2022 and 2026. Not just millennials but also tech professionals and anyone who has stress and anxiety issues can benefit from this app. The best part is that Boom also includes an artificial intelligence-powered emotional well-being tracker.

“We have talked about keeping a journal and exercising for a long time, but we frequently give up after a few efforts since it is tough to fit it into our schedules. Our smartphone bright life upgrades are a much easier and more interactive experience. Since we’ve been messaging, recording, and saving using Instagram for some time, we have the opportunity to document our thoughts and activities. I adore that our early adopters are business owners, artists, athletes, and makers,” elaborates Matt West.

In fact, Boom is helping those who left their employment last year for reasons related to their mental and emotional health, to manage stress, promote happy thoughts and increase efficiency. Being passionate about emotional and mental fitness, learning, exploring new places, and the power of technology, Matt West decided to create a platform that not only empowered people, especially millennials, but also captured and saved the bright moments of their lives. Also, his enthusiasm to help others allowed him to come up with a strategy to make emotional and mental well-being simple, participatory, and efficient in dealing with anxiety. In a short span of time, Boom Journal has helped countless people to enhance their mental health and improve their way of living.
