When it comes to furnishing your bath space, buying all interiors from bathtubs to sinks is necessary. However, there are still several intricate areas that need attention. For instance, bathroom door locks are one of the essentials that many buyers tend to go wrong with due to the many choices. Bathroom locks need to be easy to use, highly functional, match the door’s shade and never outland the interior theme. On the bottom line, bathroom doorknobs are primarily intended for privacy and are vital while furnishing bathroom doors. In most cases, bathroom door handles accentuate your bath space’s interior and have all powers to make or break the look!

Things to Consider While Buying a Bathroom Door Lock

Though bathroom door handles and locks seem a trivial decor, they can play a vital role in maintaining the functionality of the bathroom door. Bathroom doors become unproductive with a faulty doorknob or lock. Locks that jam during use can be another tragic buy. Evidently, bathroom renovations in Australia cost nearly $17,000 on average. So, to ensure that you invest in a long-lasting and durable door lock, here is a list of factors to consider,

1.Decide the lock type

To begin with, you will need to decide on what type of lock and knob you will require. Different needs demand different lock types. For instance, handle set locks are the typical bath lock type, which comes with a handle on the outside and a bolt on the inside. Such lock systems prevent bathroom doors from locking or jamming when not in use without compromising privacy. On the other hand, deadbolt lock systems have a handle on either side which are just knobs to support opening and closure. Apart from this, there is a pair of locks on either side. This setup makes deadbolt lock systems the most functional of all.

2.Have an eye on the finish

As already mentioned, door locks can interfere with your bathroom’s aesthetics. Once you decide on the lock type, you also need to ensure that the lock comes in a smooth and even finish. There are several choices again with the finishes. When choosing the type of finish, consider the faucets (their finish). The best is to find matching finishes. Try corresponding the finish with the other bathroom fittings. For instance, if your faucets have a bright brass finish, choose locks with a bright or subtle brass finish. Sometimes, mixing and matching between finishes can also produce good results.

3.Watch out for the ease of use

Investing in a pair of sophisticated bathroom door locks is sensible. However, you will not want to have a door lock that seems complicated and isn’t easy to access. Especially when you have guests coming in, bathrooms with complicated doorknobs and locks aren’t very welcoming. Sometimes, highly sophisticated locks may pave the way for doors to get jammed or locked with guests or kids inside. Never pick door locks that involve complex handling and access. The thumb rule is to choose locks with simple handling for bathroom doors that intend frequent usage.

4.Ask yourself if you need a privacy lock

Privacy locks are most commonly used in modern bathrooms and are more sophisticated. However, privacy locks are easy to use and handle. They consist of an extra button or lever to lock the door only when occupied. Other times, bathroom doors with privacy doors are easy to open and close. Privacy locks come in a variety of styles and best suit modern bathrooms with radiantly finished fixtures. Another benefit of a privacy lock is that it has an extra lever for emergency unlocking purposes when kids or elders
