Types of Window Stickers

There are multiple types of window decals based on your preference and need. Here are some of the most common types;-

Perforated

These stickers appear opaque from the inside but allow light through from the outside. The creatives micropuncture over 30% of the film and leave about 70% to display. This gives your decal a unique one-way appearance that leaves an impact. Since these stickers use glue to stick, the glue’s adhesiveness may reduce after a few usages.

Clear

You can add a beautiful graphic to any window with these sticker types and still let the light in. They are printed on clear, semi-permanent vinyl, making them perfect for retail and office applications. Besides, they can be used both indoor and outdoor, or for hone and commercial.

One may choose to have an inside/out application, where the graphics are visible from outside. Similar to perforated stickers, clear decals use glue, which may weaken with a few uses.

Opaque

Here are stickers that last long both indoors and outdoors yet are easily removed when there is a need for change. The stickers are printed on a durable, white, adhesive vinyl, giving a professional look for any retail or office. Even better, they can be used for both advertising and décor.

Additionally, they can be given a die-cut for a more customized design. Though opaque stickers are designed to last long, they may fade with time due to sun exposure, or the flue may start coming off.

Static Cling

Static cling stickers can be either opaque or transparent and can be used both indoors and outdoors. Their most significant advantage is they are recyclable up to 15 times. That is because they form a firm grip on the glass using static pressure instead of glue. Consequently, these stickers leave no marks upon removal.

However, the biggest shortcoming is their size limitation due to the static material, with the largest print sticker is 2×4 feet.

Frosted

Unlike other types of one-sided stickers, frosted decals can be applied on both sides, enhancing privacy. As the title suggests, these stickers come with a frosted or translucent back with clear text or graphic or give versa. Either design provides a professional look, with stickers larger than 5ft divided into two parts for easy installation.

Things to Consider

Keep the following thumb rules in mind when designing your sticker.

  • Be Simple and Elegant – Fewer words trigger curiosity, so avoid being wordy
  • Appropriate Font Use – Font size should not be too large to distract the viewer or too small to make it difficult to pass the message across
  • Exploit Images – Images tend to speak volumes compared to words
  • Price Temptations – Advertise your specials and offers to tempt the customer to try your brand

Conclusion

Window stickers are an effective way for a customer’s attention. However, before you take advantage of them, learn as much as you can about them. Hopefully, this piece shed some light.
