Mini Olympics
Often, there are nerves at the beginning of a birthday party. Kids aren’t accustomed to seeing each other outside of school, nobody really knows what to do (even the parents), and the whole thing feels a little awkward. Well, you can break down the nerves with a mini-Olympics. Set up all sorts of games at the venue, even if it’s just your garden, and let the excitement commence.
As well as a three-legged race, you can include a tug of war, scavenger hunt, egg and spoon race, and other events. Eventually, even the nervous children will move out from behind their parents’ legs and get involved.
Avengers Party Games
Everybody loves a superhero, and the Avengers series is at the top of all superhero franchises. While some children love Hawkeye, others want to be Captain America. With an Avengers-themed party, your child can become the superhero of their dreams along with their friends. Set up targets around the venue and equip the children with appropriate weapons.
For example, Captain America could have a painted Frisbee while Hulk has a huge foam fist. Elsewhere, Black Widow can have water pistols while Hawkeye uses a Nerf bow.
Ninja Training
Did you know that there’s probably a Ninja Parc near you? If you haven’t heard of these fantastic facilities before, they’re essentially gyms but with all sorts of fun equipment for children and adults. While adults can partake in parkour and other activities, children can jump, swing, and climb around the facilities. Ninja Parc often has a gym for sale in Adelaide and other cities, so you’re likely to have something nearby.
One of the best things about this solution is that Ninja Parc takes all the pressure from your shoulders and organizes everything. Your child and their friends won’t be able to stop talking about the food, activities, drinks, and fun.
Den Building
If you’re on a budget, pick a woodland and get the kids in a competition to build the best dens using only what’s around them. You won’t believe how competitive the children get (and how effective some kids are at building dens too!). Of course, it’s best to use fallen branches rather than actively destroying trees and bushes.
Mini Golf
Once again, this is an idea that only requires a small garden and some imagination. You can create obstacles and holes using the items in your home. For example, this includes balloons, buckets, toys, books, and more. The only small investment required is some plastic golf clubs and balls. Watch the smiles on faces as the children try to hit balls through open books.
Alternatively, you might choose to have water fights, water balloon piñatas, scavenger hunts, giant bubble fun, relay races, movie afternoon, or something else. If you’re struggling for ideas, why not ask your child? Often, they have the best ideas. Since it comes from them, you’re also sure that they will have the best time possible.
Even if you’re on a tiny budget, there’s no reason why you can’t have an adventurous birthday party for your child!
