Your professional success and your ability to keep your office sustained depend very much on the quality of security you have against burglars.

On this note, I will share with you the seven tips to adopt in any office to enhance your security consciousness and control over the contents of your office.

Table of Contents

  • Set a monitoring alarm system
  • Use British Standard lock
  • Let there be adequate lightning
  • Have CCTV Camera Installed
  • Lock Laptops with Laptop Locks
  • Lock up all your important documents in cabinets
  • Keep your Cash in a Safe

Set a monitoring alarm system

The idea of installing a monitoring alarm system gives a great deterrent to intruders and burglars. This system can signal you or the set monitoring station, which would send police to the scene.

Some of these systems would connect you (the business owner) straight to a monitoring station even if the alarm is turned off.

Use British Standard lock

Though, there are locks that provide a significant level of security. However, lock conforming to British standards has been thoroughly and intensely tested before being approved as capable of providing maximum security against intruders.

Without this, you might expose your office to potential risks.

Let there be adequate lightning

Most thefts occur at night. I, therefore, recommend that you have security lights fixed outside and around your office. They will put thieves in danger of being exposed; the thieves would feel insecure.

Also, you, as the occupants, could watch your office or home premises and have a level of control over the chance of successful theft.

I’ll advise you to use the passive infrared that is triggered and on when a person comes to the visualization field.

Have CCTV Camera Installed

CCTV cameras are not only for solving crimes, but with a monitoring unit watching over sensitive scenes and shifty movements, you can detect to-be thieves.

Therefore, make sure you adequately light up areas of the CCTV coverage for clear images.

Lock Laptops with Laptop Locks

Laptops are generally sought after grails for thieves. Hence, keeping them secure is as good as keeping your back safe and protected.

Laptop locks consist of a metal that has one end fixed to the hole around your laptop and the other end is fixed to an immovable item. The immovable item could be a table tied down to the floor.

With this in place, as different customers patronize you, your back is protected against the act of probable to-be thieves.

Lock up all your important documents in cabinets

Let all your confidential documents be locked up in cabinets. This will not only hide them from external intruders, but it would keep them safe from the internal intruders, which includes staff in the organization that may want to get a certain document for an unhealthy intention.

Keep your Cash in a Safe

Eurograde is a security initiative Europe-wide. This safe is a moderately small box with a varying level of security against unauthorized access.

It grades from 0 to 6. Grade 0 provides the lowest level of security against access, while grade 6 provides the highest level.

Though not part of the security requirements of a Eurograde, some could come with fire-rating quality.
