Tips To Manage Your Morning Anxiety

  1. Have a fixed sleep schedule: One of the best things you can do to manage your anxiety is to have a fixed schedule and fixed hours of sleep. Fix a time that you are certain you can stick to. Go to bed at that time every day and wake up at the same time the next morning. This sets a routine for your brain that helps you maintain a schedule. Once you get used to this sleep schedule, your brain gets enough time to rest and prepares your body to function properly.
  2. Breathe it out: The best and professional mental health experts suggest that breathing exercises can be the best way to calm any kind of anxiety. Start your morning with a few minutes of breathing exercises that can help calm you down before any kind of worry sets in. Breathe in and out for five minutes, focus on the centre of your forehead while you are breathing. The whole process not only helps to cope with your anxiety but also helps in improving focus and concentration for the tasks coming your way.
  3. Cut back on caffeine: There is a chance that a lot of people feel their day cannot begin without a cup of coffee. But this might actually have a detrimental effect on the brain in the long run. If that one cup becomes 3-4 cups throughout the day, it will obviously affect the sleep patterns and can cause severe anxiety problems. The key is to keep a check on the amount of caffeine intake daily. That first cup of coffee should be the last one for the day, perhaps with breakfast.

This brings us to the next vital step to manage our anxiety levels.

  1. Have a healthy and filling breakfast: As the first meal of the day, a good and nutritious breakfast can work wonders to keep our mind fit. Add in the protein and carbs that will give you the rush of energy to start your day. The human body does work in a strange way. For some people, having a good meal can keep them productive and in a good mental state for the rest of their day. So it can be a good plan to stay on the safe side and make your stomach happy before anything else.
  2. Manage overall stress: Finally, the amount of stress you are taking in, day in and day out has a direct connection to your morning anxiety levels. We all have jobs and hectic lives that can make it difficult for our mental health. This is one reason we should be extra careful about it. The good thing about managing stress is that we have full freedom as to how we go about it. If you think meditation and good food can be your solution, you are welcome to take that route. If you feel you need a little assistance to manage your stress there are numerous mental health services at your service, usually 24×7. Take your chance and do what you feel is best for you.

Write it down, sing your heart out, go for a walk, cook your own dinner – there are several ways of stress relieving and one thing different from the other. So never be afraid to reach out for help when you find yourself in need of comfort. Always remember, if you are feeling alone today, there are twenty other people who would love to share their story with you!
