Established in 2002, Miami Swim Week is an exclusive event featuring a series of runway shows showcasing the hottest swimwear and well-known designers. Linda Jasmine Walker, the founder of the 1901 collection, was incredibly happy with the audience that came out to support her and the other designers.
The E-commerce brand offers a diverse range of designs, including both one-piece and two-piece bikinis, as well as soft-spun cotton shirts curated by Linda Jasmine. Inspired by the vibrant colors of her hometown, Miami, Florida, the designs radiate a sunny aesthetic and silhouettes unique to the brand. The female-owned business made its debut a year ago and has since focused on expansion and new releases.
1901’s feature at Miami Swim Week turned out to be a huge hit, with a full audience in attendance and excitement brewing amongst viewers and designers alike. “The show was just amazing,” says Linda. “I wasn’t quite expecting such a huge turnout, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised by how hyped up the audience was. My models looked wonderful, I got to meet tons of great people, and I just can’t wait for next year’s show.”
When asked about how she balances all her obligations and owning a business, Linda Jasmine states, “In the face of adversity, determination is crucial, and giving up should never be an option. My brand is a source of pride for my family, and I hope to continue making them and myself proud.
