A little practice goes a long way. Most users download Mailchimp and immediately hop on, trying to figure out how to send a mass email in an hour. The best strategy, however, is to familiarize yourself with what Mailchimp has to offer.

Mailchimp has 5 essential tabs. Under these tabs are a lot to learn, but Mailchimp is dedicated to walking their new users through the system.

The platform has five tabs: campaigns, templates, audience, reports, and content studio. To get the most out of your marketing campaigns, you need to understand what these tabs mean!

Marketing Campaigns and Templates

First, we need to understand what campaigns and templates are, as these are the most important tools in your marketing arsenal.

A Mailchimp campaign features the emails you send to your contact base. This is the actual email you send out, whether announcements, newsletters, etc. How to use this to your advantage is to SAVE your repetitive campaigns.

If you’re sending out bi-monthly newsletters, it is easier to save the original campaign, then edit as you see fit. This is will save you both time and effort!

Templates are the options for creating the design. You are given templates featuring basic email text, pictures, videos, and more! Mailchimp gives you options on what kind of email you want to send.

Email Lists

Another necessary step in using Mailchimp is understanding your contact email lists under the Audience tab. Whether a small non-profit or a high-powered company, you have people you need to get in contact with, and pricing rates can’t be beaten!

Mailchimp also has another feature called Omnivore. What is Mailchimp omnivore, you ask? Omnivore essentially protects your account from spam emails, this way you won’t be charged more when using their services!

Now, Mailchimp allows you to transfer over your contacts, but what’s even more helpful is how the company separates these contacts into lists! This means you aren’t sending out tedious emails to people who aren’t interested in certain aspects of your business.

When people aren’t interested or are bombarded with emails, they’ll unsubscribe from your mail lists. We don’t want that!

Mailchimp allows you to break up your contacts into lists, meaning if these people are interested in events, volunteering, or investment opportunities, you can send the information to the right people.

Get Those Reports

Mailchimp’s Report tab allows you to see how your engagement is doing. How many people are opening your emails? Spending time reading them? You can see these statistics and make necessary tweaks to grab your audience’s attention!

Not only do they provide detailed reports but they can save all your important media. Think logos, videos, promos, or whatever you need under their content studio.

Mailchimp is designed to make mass communication and your marketing campaign easier and more effective. Mailchimp also dedicates a significant amount of time to teaching new users how to effectively use their platform and Mailchimp hacks.
