“You Can’t Die: A Day of Clarity.” – John C. Wolfe

In 2016,  John C. Wolfe published his debut book titled “You Can’t Die: A Day of Clarity.” In his book, Wolfe sheds a bright light on his 25 years-long battle with alcoholism. In his book of 300 pages, he has detailed the issues addicts to have to face in a broader aspect.

John Carden Wolfe was born on November 10th, 1965, in Rochester, New York. He is an author, copywriter, editor, and speechwriter. Wolfe holds a fabulous long resume of working with prominent figures and publishing companies. Wolfe once had a great job, a loving family, and a successful career. After graduating from Springfield College with a degree in English and Communication, John C. Wolfe started teaching in Western New York for two years as a (very) “permanent sub.” while coaching varsity wrestling.

On February 3rd, 2004, his addiction reached the point where Wolfe suffered a near-fatal overdose of the prescription medication Klonopin. Things started heading in a different direction, and Wolfe ended up at a psychiatric facility for a month when it was observed that he had attempted suicide.

The Funny Thing About Being Sober

In 2018, Wolfe published another book titled “The Funny Thing About Being Sober.” The book revolves around the humorous account of his first year of sobriety. Wolfe reveals he has mental illness between punchlines and funny anecdotes.

To alter his life and positively impact his release from the hospital, Wolfe volunteered to take a pay boost and transfer from the Governor’s office to an office at the Suny Board of Trustees as a chief writer and associate vice chancellor for the State University of New York. Even after pushing himself to every limit, Wolfe failed to combat his addictions and spent the next decade in an out of rehabilitation and mental clinics. Later that year, Wolfe divorced and moved to the family’s lake cottage on Loon Lake in Chestertown, New York.

After going through the turmoils in his life and getting the help, he needed to overcome his life, and John is a successful author and a role model for people who fall under addictions and want to cope with them today. John has proven that overcoming addictions doesn’t cost the whole world, and it is never too late to fix your life and get sober.

The Dead Man’s King

In 2019, Wolfe’s third book, “The Dead Man’s King,” was published, and it was his first work of fiction. The book centers on about 59 homeless men who ultimately create their own city named “Misfit City” in New York’s Central Park section. The fiction book of John C. Wolfe addresses the issue of alcoholism and the failure of the government to assist the addicts.

Wolfe is keen on bringing brand new perspectives to his work regardless of what he is writing, whether it’s about history or current affairs. His readers can be informed and entertained when they pick up one of his books. With an ongoing series of accomplishments under his name, it is quite clear that his decision to return to writing after changing his life was indeed the right choice. After a long battle with alcoholism, where Wolfe’s main focus was the consumption of alcohol one way or the other.

Cleaning his life and changing his ways were not easy for Wolfe, but his determination has made him what he is today, a renowned author and an incredible father. With tremendous experience in writing, John currently writes for various clients, including high-ranking judges, elected figures, and business leaders.
