In order to feel healthy, focus, concentrate, and think, water is an essential element for life. In the human body, water plays many functions. It helps flush out waste products; is the primary blood component; helps digestion; allows the body to manage its internal heat balance (through the sweating process); maintains cellular functioning, and helps maintain a healthy metabolism.

The fact that water is vital to your body is a well-known fact. No exception is small bodies. Research has shown, however, that more than 50 percent of US children aged 6-19 are inadequately hydrated. To keep your children hydrated, read more about why drinking water is a vital activity for children and get smart tips.

Why is Hydration Essential?

To keep us going every day, we need water so that we can feel and perform at our very best. It’s a good idea, though to look at the symptoms of dehydration to help you understand why it’s so important to stay hydrated. When we lose more bodily fluids than we take in, dehydration will occur. This can happen through functions of the body that cause fluids and electrolytes to be lost, such as:

  1. Vomiting and diarrhoea: This can cause a rapid and more significant loss of fluids and electrolytes when diarrhoea occurs unexpectedly and severely.
  2. Sweating: When you sweat, you lose water, so the more you sweat, the faster you can become dehydrated.

When you are sick, dehydration takes on a different dimension because common symptoms can all lead to dehydration, such as fever, diarrhoea, vomiting and lack of appetite. If you don’t get enough fluids, your body might have a hard time controlling its temperature. Increased body temperatures can lead to even minor fluid losses.

Your body needs sufficient Hydration to keep up with essential functions, such as:

  • Body temperature control
  • Maintaining healthy joints and skin.
  • Food digesting
  • Helping the brain work at its best
  • Produce required body fluids by sweat, urination, and stool, such as tears and saliva, and remove waste.
  • Proper Hydration can help the skin and the mucous cell membrane function as a shield to prevent bacteria from entering the body while sick with a virus. When coughing, sneezing and even just breathing, it can also help decrease nasal inflammation.

How can you Remain Hydrated?

A unique water bottle called Juglow is being launched, which will solve the hydration problems of children. It is the only child-friendly bottle that reminds them that they constantly drink water and ensures:

  • To keep your throat and lips moist and prevent your mouth from feeling dry. Dry mouth can cause bad breath and an uncomfortable taste, and can even encourage cavities.
  • Your perfect blood volume, so your heart must work harder to pump the reduced amount of blood and get enough oxygen to your cells, which makes everyday activities like walking upstairs–as well as exercise–more difficult.
  • The water within and outside the contracting muscle cells provides enough nutrients and virtually eliminates waste so that you work better.
  • Hydration also helps prevent urinary tract infections and kidney stones. If you are severely dehydrated, your kidneys may stop working, causing toxins to build up in your body.

The quality of the Juglow and the difference it makes to a child’s life when they use it as a bottle or a nightlight. That means if anyone would like to get in touch and asks anything, they’re always right there!
