Why Do People Choose Non-Surgical Wrinkle Removal Treatments?

If you are looking for ways to minimize the appearance of sagging skin, frown lines, and wrinkles, you are not alone. Each year, millions of people turn to nonsurgical or minimally invasive procedures to improve the appearance of their skin. For instance, many turn to Fractional CO2 Laser for wrinkle removal.

Understandably, many people opt for non-surgical wrinkle removal treatments as it’s less expensive and will often have less downtime. Nowadays, there are many effective and non-invasive wrinkle removal options available, including:

Botox Cosmetic

Botulinum toxin (Dysport, Botox) are injections that are utilized to treat crows feet, fine lines, and glabella (wrinkles and frown lines on the forehead). It works by plugging the chemical signs from the nerve to the muscle cells. This results in paralysis temporarily to the muscle.

Botox results are noticeable in a week and the full effect of the treatment is evident within two weeks. The effect of Botox injections can last from 3 to 4 months. When the wrinkles or frown lines begin to reappear, a follow up treatment is all that is required to maintain the results desired.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used and widely known for treating various facial concerns. They provide effective and immediate results in the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. Dermal fillers provide long-lasting and instant results and can help achieve a more natural look.

Some derma fillers work by stimulating the body to reconstruct natural collagen, resulting in lesser wrinkles and lines. The number of treatments needed will depend on how much collagen and volume has been lost. What makes some derma fillers so popular is it can last for as long as two years.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can also aid with the reduction of hyperpigmentation, age spots, as well as fine lines. Chemical peels work by causing controlled and even shedding of layers of harmed cells so a new and fresh layer can emerge. This resurfacing technique makes use of a chemical solution that is applied to the face.

After the process, it is normal to feel minimal stinging which can last for a couple of minutes. Often, no discomfort is felt during the time when the skin peels. However, using sun protection is recommended to prevent any irritation that can be caused by sun exposure.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure that can address many skin concerns. It is suitable for all skin tones and types and provides overall skin rejuvenation. Microdermabrasion uses a handpiece that gently sands away the epidermis (top layer of the skin) composed of dead skin cells.

Many people who love microdermabrasion opt for this procedure as it serves many purposes: it helps minimize wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps with melasma and hyperpigmentation. It also addresses other skin concerns like age spots, stretch marks, dark spots, and acne scars.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL uses a broad-spectrum flash lamp to penetrate the dermis without damaging the epidermis. IPL is also used to treat skin pigmentation like sun and age spots, sun damaged skin, skin tightening, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation. IPL can also be used on other parts of the body including the chest, arms, legs, and face.

Brown spots that are treated using IPL can get darker in color but can peel off within a few days. During the healing process, the skin should be kept moist using a moisturizer or lotion. Using SPF 30 sunscreen (or higher) is also recommended to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun during and after the treatment.
