Realizing it’s benefits the ayurvedic, other traditional medicines have handed down the massaging practices for healing, restoration and medicinal properties. These oils have been consumed and applied externally for their antibacterial and antioxidant properties. These slow down the processes of aging to get you that robust, hydrated younger skin texture.

Oils Best Absorbed by Skin

It is recommended to first assess your skin type and then decide on oiling your skin directly. If you have oily skin types, this practice can be made less frequent, say occasionally sometime before taking a shower. Choose a face oil specially for your facial skin concerning it’s sensitive and delicate nature. Do not resort to direct oil application on your face if you have acne and pimples. Go for a lighter textured, facial oil suitable on sensitive skin types. The dry skin types get a fresh lease of life, from the direct application of these oils.

  1. Coconut oil is semi solid at room temperature at times. But it melts on coming in contact with your skin’s temperature. It is a bit sticky, forms a protective layer and tames extreme dryness, scaly, flaking skin conditions. It also increases the collagen production helping skin cells to revive and firm up. Lauric acid and saturated fats are major ingredients in this oil.

It is a storehouse of fatty acids to treat the dry skin surfaces. It also heals if any minute wear and tear occurs on the surface. Massaging with this oil increases the blood circulation in your body and herbs can be heated to get their scents and essences in this oil.

  1. Olive oil is known for its powerful antioxidants to combat sagging skin patches and other age related features. It is the best oil for both massages and for consumption.
  2. Almond oil gives a sheen, falls light on the skin and gets instantly absorbed into the skin pores. It is blessed naturally with the abundance of vitamin A and improves the skin texture.
  3. Jojoba oil is fit for oily skin types and it is perfect for your facial skin. It also dissolves the dirt and body oil deposits for easier cleansing upon showering.
  4. Rosehip seed oil application to reduce the rashes on your skin which gives you a red colour of irritated, super sensitive skin patch.
  5. Grapeseed oil is used to reduce acne formations with antimicrobial properties. The scars on the facial and body skin are reduced to a bare minimum. 3-4 drops would just be enough to cover your entire facial skin.
  6. Pomegranate oil to fight the building bacterial layer on the skin, in case you are troubled by the pimples and acne breakouts.
  7. Argan oil is known to dissolve sebum accumulation when applied on the facial skin. It promotes a smoother complexion for both skin and hair.
  8. Tea tree oil must be used with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil. It should not be applied directly to your skin surface; especially the facial skin. It is anti-inflammatory and calming in nature.
  9. Sunflower seed oil for supplements like vitamin E and proper moisturization of your body skin. It is a noncomedogenic (does not clog the skin pores) and is safe for almost every skin type.
  10. Marula oil- absorbs into your skin quickly on application. It’s production is limited to the African continent. It is revered for its medicinal and nourishing properties, light-weight nature etc. The oily and acne prone skin types can avoid this oil, as it can clog your facial skin pores (comedogenic) even though it has powerful antioxidants.

These natural skincare tips prove to be a gold mine of nourishing, anti-aging and antimicrobial agents. It would be a total loss if you haven’t used any one of these at least once on your skin. Some of these are wonderful not only for consumption, but also for external applications. Yet, it is better to keep them separate- for cooking and external application respectively, as there is a difference in the processing and enriching methods of these oils.
