In a motherboard assembly line, each of the components in the circuit board are usually protected by its respective case. This case, as part of the whole system, is also called a motherboard or mother-case.

Because the circuit board is an essential part of the motherboard, the circuit board must be protected against external force and heat during the assembly process.

Motherboard Assembly
The motherboard assembly process usually involves two steps:

Attaching the circuit board to the motherboard; and connecting the circuit board to the motherboard. The circuit board and the motherboard are usually attached together by an adhesive or a fastener. The circuit board is connected to the motherboard by an electrical connector. The process of connecting the circuit board to the motherboard can be a time consuming process, especially when the motherboard has a large number of components.
The process of connecting the circuit board to the motherboard can be simplified if the circuit board and the motherboard are already connected together. The circuit board and the motherboard are already connected together, and they are not attached to each other. The process of connecting the circuit board to the motherboard is called a self-connect process.

The process of self-connecting the circuit board to the motherboard can be performed in two ways:

1) by directly connecting the circuit board to the motherboard

(2) by removing the circuit board from the motherboard and then directly connecting the circuit board to the motherboard.

Motherboard must be installed into the case
In the assembly process, the motherboard must be installed into the case and fixed by the screw. After the screw is tightened, the motherboard is secured in the case. At this moment, the motherboard is usually vibrated by the vibrator, and the vibration of the motherboard will be transmitted to the screw. The vibration will be transmitted to the screw and will make the screw loosen or even loose. When the screw loosens, the motherboard is loosened and may be damaged. This is a common problem of the motherboard assembly line.

In order to solve the above problem, a number of conventional techniques are proposed. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 6,775,708 discloses a motherboard assembly line having a vibration and impact absorbing system. In the system, a motor and a screw are provided. The motor is used to drive the screw to rotate and tighten the screw. The screw is a long screw having a head and a screw body. The screw body is made of metal.

Why case is required to be designed with a high precision?

Because the case is an integral part of the whole motherboard, it is required to be designed with a high precision. Therefore, the size and the shape of the case are generally designed according to the specifications of the motherboard and the position of the components on the motherboard.

The motherboard cover is generally a rectangular parallelepiped body with a plurality of mounting holes. The motherboard cover is made of a plastic material, and the plastic material is usually a plastic material that is hard to be scratched. The plastic material has a good wear resistance. The motherboard cover is provided with a plurality of screw holes corresponding to the mounting holes of the motherboard body.
