What’s Inside a Woman’s Car Emergency Kit

Emergency kits are collections of things that are essential for survival during emergencies and natural disasters. They are carefully packed in a box or bag containing basic needs such as bottled water, non-perishable foods, medicines, and other emergency tools. Your emergency kits should also contain survival supplies and first aid kits.

Independent women nowadays can go for a long drive alone. If you are planning to go somewhere for a vacation or for some winding up, it is best if you have your car emergency kit with you, in case of breakdowns or sudden changes in weather conditions.

Being prepared while on travel is the best thing to do especially if you are traveling with your kids. By doing this, you will have peace of mind whenever unexpected problems occur during your family trips because you know you are somehow prepared and already planned things ahead.

Women’s Car Emergency Kit Must-Have

Aside from the spare tire and vehicle tools that are in your car trunks all the time, typical car emergency kits must also have a fire extinguisher and reflective triangles.

For women, we have a different set of priorities we include in our own car emergency kit. Here are the top 10 of the must-have things for women

Bottled Water and Non-Perishable Foods

It is recommended that you have these supplies inside your trunk that are good for at least 3 days. You don’t want your kids to starve while waiting for help right?

First-Aid Kits

Your first aid kit should have antiseptic wipes and band-aids in the case of minor cuts and bruises. It should also contain basic non-prescription medicines for fever and colds. Most importantly, don’t forget to include you and your kid’s prescription medicines. Just regularly check them if they are still in good condition knowing that car temperature changes.

Extra Phone and Charger

Phone nowadays were used for navigation, especially if you are heading to someplace you have never been before. Extra phones and chargers will be good content in your emergency kit.

Road Map

In case of the worst-case scenario of having problems with your extra phones and chargers, you can still continue to drive using a road map. Let us not forget the girl scout spirit within ourselves.

Flashlight

The best tool to use in case of dark roads and you needed to check out for some things. You cannot rely on your cellphone’s battery all the time, so a flashlight will be helpful to you during emergency situations. Bring some extra batteries

Extra Blankets

Extra blankets will warm the coldest nights, in case you and your family needed to spend the whole night in your car.

Jumper Cables

This is a must-have tool for your car battery during emergency situations.

Umbrellas and Rain Coats

Weather can change from time to time. You may experience storms and rains during summer, spring, and fall. So bringing an umbrella and extra raincoat whatever season it may be is a must for mothers like us. We didn’t want our kids to catch any cold or flu by not bringing one right?

Essential Toiletries

Women are extra sensitive when it comes to sanitation so bringing extra toiletries that will come in handy if you need them during emergencies is a big yes.

Extra Cash

Better have little extra cash than sorry. You will never know when you will be needing some extra cash along the way. So bring some and put them in a safe place.

If you have these things inside your car, it is recommended to check them once in a while to check for the things that are needed to be replaced especially medicines, foods, and bottled water that have expiration dates.

Important Tip: Always have a copy of your car insurance policy, towing company contact numbers, and emergency phone numbers.

Women are good at organizing things out so preparing a car emergency kit like this is not a problem at all. But if you do want to spend much time creating a DIY emergency kit, you can buy a ready-packed car emergency kit here. You can add things up if you want them to be more personalized.

Having a car emergency kit is not only for your own safety, and wellness but also for your family especially for your kids. Remember, mother knows best!
