Year 1967, when he first joined the Awami League in Bangladesh. As he worked, the tension towards his country increased. A few years later in 1971, the war started in the country. During this war, he played the role of one of the most and ideal organizers.

The activities of the struggle committee were conducted from his own Jupiter House in Patharghata and the declaration of independence was cyclically propagated. He conveyed the declaration of independence to the people from his home. In addition to these great activities, he was an honest member of the relief and rehabilitation committee of the Mujibnagar government. During the war, he flew to various parts of Europe and America to build world public opinion for the country and its people. Besides, he migrated to India, a neighboring country of Bangladesh, to fulfill various responsibilities of the expatriate Bangladesh government during the war of liberation.

The great leader passed away on November 4, 2012, at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore due to a kidney complication. Millions mourned his death.
