1: Compressor

A compressor is a significant part of cooling cycles and runs the main loop of the system. It manages the temperature perfectly, compresses the refrigerants, raises/lowers the temperature, and gives your required cooling process for the system. 

2: Air Conditioner

The commercial air conditioners are identical to the residential units. The primary application of it is to remove the humidity from the air and also heat from it. It’s important to know that air conditioners themselves are not the main reason to keep the building cool. There are several subsystems attached that regulate the temperature according to the requirements. 

3: Condenser

The condenser works like a compressor, and it is primarily used as an exchanger. It usually works on the hot side of the air conditioning unit and eliminates all the heat of the building. It removes the heat from the building and throws it into the outside environment. 

4: Thermal Expansion Valve

It is the key component of the condenser’s function and perfectly releases the pressure of a refrigerant liquid. After that, the expansion takes place, converting the liquid into vapor form. Specifically, it is used to control the flow of a refrigerant when the system sends it to the evaporator coil. 

Furthermore, the expanded liquid is warm at first, and then it is entered into the expansion valve. It is necessary to improve the overall performance and efficiency. The thermal expansion valve can be used inside or outside or the air handler. 

5: Terminal Units

The terminal units include a coil, an air filter, and a blower. These components are available in different sizes and are extremely used in commercial HVAC and RTUs units. RTUs are middle-sized units than the MTUs. They are usually used to control the temperature of a single apartment or a room. 

6: Chiller

They are more efficient than air conditioners and come in water-cooled and air-cooled variants. They are preferably used to remove heat from a liquid that, of course, passes through the structured pipes. To cool down the condensers, fan-driven air is utilized, and you can easily find them outdoors. 

If you are looking for long-term cooling sustenance, water-cooled chillers are used. Water is the main cooling agent that passes through a permanent recirculation process. When the air circulates, the water carries away the heat and keeps it cool. 

7: Air Handler

As the name suggests, it is responsible for proper air circulation throughout the system. Usually, it is connected with ductwork, and heated air blows through it. After that, it returns the cool air in the system making everything cool inside the compartment. The essential components are heating elements, cooling elements, blower, and several other components.

Out of other parts, the evaporator coil is important and also requires maintenance after some time.  The evaporator coil takes the chilled refrigerant coming from the compressor. The air from the blower fan surrounds the coil and removes heat.

8: Duct System

You will see an all-in-all duct system in HVAC parts. A new HVAC system has replaced the duck system with something innovative. However, there are many systems where ducks are still used in HVAC systems. It’s a perfect solution for the old buildings and keeps the work easier.
