What Are Some Good Colleges In Canada For An MBA Without The GMAT?

Most Canadian business schools demand GMAT or GRE scores for admission to MBA programs. The GMAT exam or the General Management Admission Test is the entrance exam for most MBA programs worldwide. However, some colleges and business schools in Canada don’t require GMAT scores for admitting students to an MBA program. Studying for an MBA without GRE does not imply that universities will reduce educational quality. If a college does not need the GMAT, you must meet the other standards established by the University for Acceptance.

Good Colleges in Canada for an MBA without the GMAT exam:

Here are the top MBA colleges in Canada that offer admission without the GMAT:

  • Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto

This top business school offers MBA programs in Canada with and without taking the GMAT exam. Applicants for the Executive MBA program must possess a recognized industry experience of more than eight years, along with a valid score in the Rotman Executive Diagnostic Test (EDT). Applicants can opt for the GRE score for the full-time MBA course instead of a GMAT score.

  • Thompson Rivers University (TRU)

The university offers a distance MBA program that does not require a GMAT score. Students can choose the mode of instruction as offline or online, and the college also offers flexibility to choose from a part-time and a full-time program.

  • Vancouver Island University (VIU)

The MBA program at Vancouver Island University is a comprehensive master’s course that combines technology and management learning. The admission requirements for the program do not include a GMAT score. Applicants with an undergraduate degree and a minimum of one year of work experience are eligible to apply for the MBA program.

  • University of Northern British Columbia

Students seeking admission to this university should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience along with a valid undergraduate degree. The program does not require a GMAT score for admission, and applicants must submit a statement of interest and a few references to apply.

  • New York Institute of Technology (NYIT)

The institute does not require a GMAT score for admission to their MBA program, and the students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 can directly apply. However, the applicants who do not fulfil the minimum GPA criteria may take the GMAT exam to make up for the UG score deficit.

  • University Canada West (UCW)

The university offers several digital integrations as certificates along with their MBA programs. The university requires valid GMAT or GRE scores for admission. So, an applicant without a GMAT can opt for the GRE and apply using that score.

  • DeGroote Business School, McMaster University

The institute offers regular MBA and accelerated MBA options for management students. Applicants must have a valid GMAT or GRE score for the full-time MBA. For the accelerated MBA, these scores are not needed.

  • Schulich School of Business, York University

The university mandates a valid GMAT or GRE score for admission to its MBA program. Applicants must also possess a minimum of two years of work experience post their undergraduate degree.

  • Lakehead University

The university requires a valid GMAT or GRE score for MBA admissions. However, the GMAT is exempted for applicants who have cleared all three levels of the CFA certification or who hold a CPA designation (CPA Canada) or a valid and competent LSAT or MCAT score.

An MBA is a perfect step to advance in your profession. Candidates must consider several entrance standards to gain admission to a top MBA school. Many international students choose Canada as a study location. It is the second most popular location for Indian students wishing to study overseas after the United States. It is possible to pursue MBA without the GMAT exam, given that the applicant meets all other eligibility criteria of the institute.
