Wavey: ‘Persevere any way you can and make it happen’

We were fortunate enough to interview artist Wavey.

1.) Why do they call you Wavey

meaning of my name is to represent moving towards something. For me it represents my future and  goals. Onshore represents the sea moving towards shore on land. The sea is my problems and  distraction. And I’m the wave that gets to the shore to reach the end of my journey.

2.) When did you realize that you had a passion for music?

I realized I had a passion for music at a very young age, my father used to make reggae music when I  was young, and used to sing song and rap to me and my siblings all the time on the way to our high  school.

I remember always staying a little later or arriving earlier just for me and my friends to circle around  and freestyle. This was in 2015 I was about 15 after that i tried to pursue my passion in the sport  basketball But could never let go of my true passion which is music/art.

3.) Who are your main inspirations as an artist?

the people that inspired me the most, actually introduced me to music. The first people that got me  interested in the industry I would have to say was my uncle that went by the name “G” & my other  uncle you went by the name “CROW” rest in piece to my uncle “Crow”. They showed me to follow  your dreams and that I am talented enough to do it and succeed.

As for the legends my inspirations would have to be

50 cent

Tory Lanez

Kendrick Lamar

Drake

Partynextdoor

4.) What would you like to achieve as an artist?

As an artist/ brand I would I like to big as great as I can be and also help others be great as well.

I would like to start a mandatory investment course for schools in my city also want to provide free  schooling for any children that is in sick kids or that was in sick kids.

I don’t just hand out money on the street to the homeless because I used to do that and I asked what  would they be using this money for and why they needed it and none of them could answer & when  they did they said for my next fix…

5.) What is your most memorable moment while being an artist?

My most memorable moments while being an artist was when the big artist Tory Lanez let me know to  send him my best song

That meant a lot because I seen him come from nothing and grind and be successful at what he does.  Im trying doing to do the same and get myself and brand as big as I can to change my life and others. I also followed his story going through the industry and it meant a lot for someone from my city.  Who’s that talented and inspiring to give me a chance or even put the opportunity out there is big to me  and I’m grateful and will always respect him for that.

6.) Who is the biggest artist you’ve worked with?

Haven’t made any songs with big artist yet looking forward to it when the time comes

7.) Tell us a little more about your recent project?

My recent project plays a lot of mind games because as soon as you think you have me figured out I  will take a turn with a sound that’s unheard using my witty lyrical and motivational presence Also I talk about how people tried to take deliberate actions of calculated psychological manipulation,  intended to intimidate or confuse me (usually for competitive advantage) in this album.

8.) What should we be looking forward to from you in the future?

In the future check for my release of my comedy comic book called

“BEING WAVEY”

Also my album release

“Mind games”

Video releases

A few singles in between both and much more that will be coming with a purchase of the album  I do try and keep it close with fans and supporters and answer them also help them.  Just add my social media and try and give me a shout if you need anything or want to show love.

9.) Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?

Would like to tell the readers that never judge a book by its cover also persevere any way you can and  make it happen. Your in control of your own life make the best of it and help Others if you can, never  forget be yourself.
