Vincent Wong Shares How Wealth Dragons Came To Life

Vincent Wong isn’t just your ordinary and average entrepreneur – he’s something truly unique. As someone who began his career as a pharmacist, traveling throughout the UK for the first few years of his career, Vincent has since gone on to become one of the most respected, recognized, and reputable property industry experts in the UK. Not to mention, he’s got a sizeable social media following, and he’s a renowned public speaker on the international stage. He’s the Co-Founder of Wealth Dragons, a self-education company dedicated to helping investors and interested enthusiasts build their knowledge, and he also penned a book titled “Property Entrepreneur,” and co-authors “The Wealth Dragon Way.”

If you ask him, he’d tell you that it was all a matter of circumstance, but anyone who knows just how hard Vincent has worked to bring his dreams to life would tell you that he’s just being modest.

“I’m really a firm believer that business isn’t an exact science. It’s more like a work of art. You have your medium and your media, and then it’s up to you to paint the canvas. You get to make all of the color choices, you get to decide when it’s finished. And you have the chance to throw it out, cover it up, or simply grab a new canvas and start again. In other words, I believe that you have to build a business from the ground up. Challenges are a good thing, and failure is inevitable. When it happens, simply get back on your feet and get back to work.”

The Beginnings

Vincent was brought up in London, where he attended London Oratory School. He went on to earn his Bachelors in Pharmacy from the University of London, and then immediately embarked on his journey as a pharmacist. It was a good job, but he felt tired, underpaid, and simply uninterested in the work that he was doing. 

In 1997, he made a change and graduated with his MBA. From there, he made the shift away from pharmacy and into the property industry. At the time, he specialized in structuring investments and purchase deals, working with property owners and investors alike to find the perfect win-win scenarios.

And then during the massive global financial crisis of 2008, Vincent saw an opportunity to take what he had learned throughout his first 10 years in the property industry to create a new concept that would ultimately allow people to get back into homes and work towards purchasing them – even if they couldn’t afford to do it right away.

“Times were tough, and I wanted to do something meaningful that would help people get back into homes. I began looking at lease options as a potential solution. It took off in the UK quickly, and then it started to spread in the Netherlands and Malaysia. Essentially, lease options made it possible for interested home owners to rent a property with an option to buy it at the end of their terms, without a mortgage or a down payment.”

Just one year later, Vincent, along with good friend and busines confidante, John Lee, went on to found Wealth Dragons – a self-education company dedicated to providing people with the knowledge they seek to make the right financial decisions when it comes to property.
