Vape Technology Trends of 2021 and the future of Vapes for 2022

While some may argue that some of  the trends below aren’t entirely new features or standards, we can agree that many became popular and better in 2021.

Size: Vapes have become smaller in 2021. Advancements in battery technology and heating methods is making the vape more small, compact and carry-friendly. The new cool vapes of 2021 are smaller with the same or even better features and a longer battery life. 

Heating: There has been a shift in the heating mechanism of most new 2021 vapes. Manufacturers are rapidly favoring and switching to the All-time Stable Technology or AST coils. The AST coils uses new materials that have better heating management. The AST coils heat up a bit faster, usually burn out much slower and deliver better flavor for more of the coil’s lifespan than the alternative. It is also a greener option for those concerned about the environment.

The rise of Disposables: This is one of the trends that have been around for quite some time now but, it has gained more traction in 2021 with improvement in technology. The rise in the popularity of disposables is because they have become better, offering premium satisfaction for a small price. Disposable vapes offer similar benefits as regular vapes for a far lower price tag and the benefit of a variety of flavors. Disposable vapes are discreet, extremely easy to use and a good starter device for those getting into vaping for the first time.

Plastic Pods are replacing Traditional Tanks: While plastic pod systems might seem like the mainstay for smaller devices, 2021 saw a lot of larger vape devices switch from traditional 510 tanks to plastic pods. For a number of positive reasons (higher power etc), quite a large number of direct to lungs devices have switched to plastic pod systems instead of the traditional tank. 

USB-C Quick Charge: The need for on-demand vape systems have given rise to newer charging technologies. Vape manufacturers have adopted the new USB-C quick charge system to their vape device products to guarantee faster charging time. This is not a new technology of 2021, but the adoption for vape products is novel and a welcome development. USB-C charging means devices with larger power demands can get charged up quickly and more reliably.

Internal Batteries over Removable Batteries: Most manufacturers are favoring internal batteries over removal batteries in most new devices we have seen in 2021. This switch creates more compact devices and the improvement in battery technology means a longer, stable battery life.

While much of these developments have improved the experience for users, experts forecast an even better future prospects for the vape industry.

More Disposables: Expect the popularity of disposable to soar. If the data is anything to rely on, the disposables market is on a astronomical high and shows no sign of slowing down. Manufacturers are in a rush to outdo each other in terms of features and the premium nature of their products.

The Disappearance of Removable Batteries: Improvement in battery and power technologies is making a strong case for internal batteries. Manufacturer can now make larger battery capacities without necessarily increasing the size of the batteries. Also faster charging technologies is fast eliminating the need for spare batteries.

Cheaper Devices: Technology truly makes life easier. The extent of technological advancement in the design and manufacture of vapes have led to a rapid reduction in its price tag. The influx of disposables into the market is further driving prices down without impacting the quality of the experience. 2022, users should expect more rock bottom prices for same great quality.
