The Indian Government created a new eGovernance platform that they were planning on using to create awareness about the various services that the people had to apply for. They made sure the online platform was easy to use and had all the information they needed when applying for various applications while optimising it for mobile phones since the largest percentage of people used it on their phone. While the purpose of every application is the same throughout the country, there are a few variations when it comes to the implementation of the same documents across different Indian states.

eGovernance is a system created using electronic means to help and assist the people working within their country. There might be a lot of processes that people have to get through, which might be a little difficult wherein the Government steps in with a simple system to encourage more people to partake.

The Government began using IT to deliver various government services, exchange information, communicate transactions and other details. They started integrating stand-alone systems, multiple departments and groups of people such as Government-to-Citizen (G2C),

Government-to-Business (G2B), Government-to-Government (G2G), and

Government-to-Employees (G2E). They are using the same processes to coordinate back-office interactions within the Government framework.

While the masses in a country usually look at Government and leaders as individuals, who are always out of their reach, difficult to get in touch with, the eGovernance platforms made people feel connected and in touch, with their Government and leaders. It also made a lot of the Government services available to the public through a convenient, efficient, and transparent system when they previously found it challenging to get through.

Some of the primary purposes of eGovernance platforms are that they assist with the application processes for various departments. The Government has a lot of documentation that people have to fill out if they want specific rights in the country, but they coordinate all these through multiple departments. The eGovernance website brings everything under one roof but coordinates them through the same departments, at the backend. Applicants can use the website when registering a birth, death, marriage, other legal work including inheritance, only child certificate and so on. All the documents to get through these are available on the website, and applicants can download them and use them to get through the process.

The eGovernance platform can also be used to make payments to various Government departments for utility services like electricity, water and gas. Various other services can be accessed and paid for but might vary from one state to another. Some Indian states thought they would further simplify the process and they decided to create a separate, smaller portal called eDistrict with information about the various application processes and utility departments in their specific state.

There were a large number of people who were not registering the births of their children in the country, and the eGovernance platform was created to assist with the process and make it smoother. Birth registrations are one of the main processes application processes handled through eGovernance.

Before getting a ​birth certificate​, the applicant had to make sure they registered the birth. According to Government rules, the birth of a child has to be registered in 21 days after they are born. All the application forms for the process were available on the website, and people could download and submit them with the supporting documents. In most cases, the medical institution where the child was born would assist with the ​birth registration​ process, and the parents did not have to do much, just submit the information, if needed to the hospital.

The website would process the information at their end and give the applicant an update of when it was ready to download. People could use the same eGovernance platform for multiple other processes relating to the ​birth certificate​ or the coordination between the Registrar of Births and Deaths. They could get information about the process, including forms to apply for a duplicate birth certificate or to make changes to their current certificate if there were any issues with the process.

Breaking down eGovernance and the various departments it coordinates with:

• Government to Citizen (G2C)
• Government to Business (G2B)
• Government to Government (G2G) Government to Employees (G2E).

Government To Citizen (G2C)

G2C aims to connect people with the Government authorities by supporting accountability, listening to concerns raised, and improving public services. The system allows people to communicate with their Government directly. ● E-Citizen

Provides various customer services, like issuing certificates, Ration Cards, Passports, Payment of Bills and taxes etc. These centres will become one-stop Government Shops for delivery of all services although in theory there is some coordination between various departments.

● E-Transport

Assists with all elements of transport including Registration of motor vehicles, Issue of driving licenses, Issue of plying permissions (Permits), Tax and fee collection through Cash and Bank Challans and Control of Pollution.

● E-Medicine

Provides medical assistance, linking hospitals in different parts of the country, for better medical services to people.

● E-Registration

Provides registration and transfer of properties and stamp duty assisting with a substantial reduction of paperwork and reducing duplicate entries.

Consumer To Government (C2G)

C2G comprises areas where people interact with the Government, including, areas, like

• Elections where they vote for the Government
• Census where they information to the Government
• Taxation where they pay taxes to the Government

Government To Government (G2G)

G2G refers to e-Administration, which is improving Government processes by cutting costs, managing performances, making connections that benefit each other by working together.

● E-Secretariat

Provides the cross-linking of departments to exchange information and various components simplifying the process of Governance.

● E-Police

Gathers and centralises information about the law and details about the police officers. The information allows teams and offices to get details about transfers to work with them and get assistance. Additionally, using similar systems for information when dealing with criminals and having information passed around.

● E-Court

Creating a database of cases where the information can assist with closing cases that are unnecessarily dragged.

• Statewide Networks

Linking all Government departments with district headquarters and the capital, facilitating the flow of information between constituents. For instance, linking the district Headquarters, district headquarters to State Headquarters and State Headquarters to the National Capital.

Government To Business (G2B)

• E-Taxation

Comprises all the services that a business needs from the Government, including licenses and other permissions. If there is an opposite flow of information, going from Business to Government, it would be a B2G interaction.
