In the automotive industry, there are always some parts that can only function when appropriately joined to other parts. Therefore, specialized fasteners with specialized joining mechanisms and very high tolerance are essential.
The two main types of automotive fasteners are metal and plastic fasteners. Agrati offers premium products in both these categories. We offer fasteners for cell-to-cell connections in battery terminals, long screws and bolts for battery pack fixations, and e-powertrain (special plastic fasteners adapted used in electric modules).

Who We Are
At Agrati, our 2,400+ employees engineer and manufacture fasteners for the automotive industry at 12 different Production Plants, as well as running a further five Logistic Centers and 13 Sales & Application Offices.
We have six branches in Italy, five in the USA, four in France, four in Germany, three in China, one in Turkey, one in Korea, and one in Japan.
Each year, we purchase more than 160,000 tons of steel, from which we create 8 billion automotive components that go into the construction of more than 40 million cars.
As busy as we are, however, we still find time to develop 850 new products yearly, investing 8% of our revenue in Innovation and Technology.
But the modern giant that we are today sprang from humble beginnings. In 1939, our forerunner was a modest 20-person manufacturing company.
Sustainability
Steel is the most commonly used metal for automotive fasteners, however our R&D Department has introduced different materials in our products, to adapt them to one of the most important trends of the automotive market: electrification. We have specialized in products made also in copper alloys, for the implementation of conductive features, as well as aluminum alloys, to respect lightweight requests. These materials show different degrees of strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. However, the right surface finishing process can greatly improve the strength, durability, and corrosion resistance of any given metal.
What’s more, we have introduced also plastic as co-moulded component, because it usually performs better than metal when it comes to tensile strength and insulation.
Another consideration we take into account when choosing the materials for our fasteners is sustainability. Commitment to sustainability is one of our core values. As we continue to strive to understand and monitor our external context, a circular economy provides the model for our corporate research and development strategy.
A central thrust of our sustainability policy is, again, electrification. Electrified vehicles do not require fossil fuels and, therefore, do not contribute towards the depletion of our non-renewable resources. At Agrati, we have developed specialized materials ideal for use in electronic applications.
