Travel couple Domi and Frida talk about the most romantic destinations in Europe

Let’s talk about your love story. When did it start and what was your first long journey together?
Our love story began in 2006 when we were very young in high school. At that time we were 17 (Domi) and 15 (Frida). When we meet, both find out that we have a common passion for traveling all around the world and exploring other cultures. Our first long trip together was in Dubai when we were around 20 years old. It was an unforgettable travel experience and we hope to return one day to visit it again! We also visited Kenya shortly thereafter and went on a safari in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

We found some articles on your blog about Paris. Is it really the most romantic place in Europe?
Ahh … Paris has stolen our heart! We first visited Paris together in May 2019 and can’t wait to go back. La ville lumière is a truly romantic place with unique and breathtaking places for every couple in love. One of our favorite spots is the Alexandre III bridge which boasts a splendid view of the Eiffel Tower. We recommend that you visit it at sunset for a super romantic experience with your love. Also, don’t miss an early morning stroll in the Montmartre district to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Are you dreaming of a candlelit dinner on Bateaux Mouches or even the Eiffel Tower? Paris is this and much more!

What other romantic places will you recommend in Europe?

In our country in Italy, there are many romantic places above all Venice, Verona and Rome. We also found Prague, Tallinn and Budapest very romantic. It’s also impossible not to mention Santorini, one of our favorite destinations and chosen by many lovers for honeymoons. The last time we were there in September 2019 we saw some really special wedding proposals!

How was your experience in Santorini?

Santorini is truly amazing! Thousands of tourists visit this island every year and for various good reasons. We were a bit worried about the crowd especially for the photos we had to take. In the end we didn’t have any problems and created some of our best memories from last year. If you are looking for the best place for a romantic summer getaway, you must seriously consider Santorini. There are mind-boggling hotels with wide views of the caldera that will leave you breathless. We have created a specific article on our blog about hotels overlooking the caldera in Santorini. Don’t miss it! Most of these are located in the towns of Oìa and Imerovigli. Bear in mind that these hotels have high prices and are usually full. So you have to book 8-12 months in advance to secure your infinity pool suite overlooking the caldera.
