Tragus earrings are extremely popular among young people. There are many designs for this type of jewelry. You can choose from curved or circular barbells depending on your preference. There are many other options available for this type of piercing jewelry.

The tragus connects to the skin on the side of your face and extends into the ear canal partially covering it. The tragus, a thick, fleshy flap that covers the ear canal, protects and covers the tube that leads into the inner organs of the ears, such as the eardrum.

Every piercing site has a frightening rumor. Tragus is a rumor that can be associated with nerve injury. Tragus piercing can only be done on a small part of the body. This highlights the importance of proper aftercare in order to heal from the pain.

The process of Tragus Piercing

Use purified water and a disinfectant that is medical-grade to clean your tragus.

Mark the area to be pierced with a non-toxic marker or pen.

Sterilize your needle. Insert it in the designated place of the tragus.

Add jewelry to the piercing that you have chosen in advance.

Wash the area with water and disinfectant again to make sure it is clean.

The effectiveness of piercing cartilage with a piercing gun is not good. They can lead to scarring, increased discomfort, and other complications.

Different types of Tragus Earrings

1.Captive Bead Ring

CBRs (also known as ball closure rings or BCRs) are metal rings that have one bead connecting the ends. To create the illusion of a full circular effect, some will use a straight line instead of a bead. You can choose from a range of sizes, and they can be tailored to suit your individual needs. You can get the CBR in many colors as well as charms and diamonds.

2.Barbell Earring

A barbell is a rod of metal with a bead at one end. A curved barbell is used for vertical tragus piercings. A circular barbell is similar to a captive bead ring, but it has two beads. Although the horseshoe barbell looks similar to a round barbell, the ends of the horseshoe barbell are straight. This gives it the appearance that it is a horseshoe. Barbells can have dangling charms added, and the shaft can also be bent into shapes or motifs.

3.Flat Back Tragus Earrings

A labret-stud is composed of a flat disc at the bottom and a straight shaft. The jewelry of your choice is on the other side. The end can be completed with a bead or spike, charm, or any other shape or motif. The flat disc lies behind the tragus in a tragus-piercing. To avoid skin irritation, it is flat.

4.Hoops

Tiny earrings are another option for the tragus. However, we recommend waiting until your skin heals before trying out unusual shapes or textures.

Tragus Piercing: Pain and Healing Time

Although the pain from piercing is usually short-term, it can cause some discomfort that lasts for several hours or even days. The new piercings are exposed sores.

A well-healed, clean tragus piercing shouldn’t cause pain unless it gets infected or snags onto anything.

Tragus piercings usually heal in 3 to 6 month, but in some cases, it can take up to one year.

Tragus earrings made from materials

1.Surgical Stainless Steel

This is medical-grade stainless, which is used for making medical implants. Although it does contain nickel, its low nickel release rate makes it safe for those who are sensitive to that metal. Avoid it if you have severe nickel allergies.

2.Titanium

Titanium, unlike stainless steel is hypoallergenic, is a medical-grade metallic. Although titanium is more costly, your piercer may recommend it if you have severe nickel allergies.

3.Gold (14 karats or higher)

Gold is a safe bet if you love the color of yellow, rose or white gold, and are willing to pay more. It should be solid and not gold-plated. This can cause flaking and expose you to nickel as well as other metals beneath.

4.Niobium

Although it is similar to titanium, this elemental metal is safe for most people. However, it does not have the implant-grade certification. This is not a major concern. It’s also cheaper than titanium.

5.Sterling Silver

Another popular material for tragus jewellery is

Tragus Earrings: What size do I need?

1.Hoops:

For a Tragus piercing, the most common gauge is 16 gauge or 18gauge. Your anatomy and personal preference will determine the hoop size you should use. For tragus 6mm is a good choice.

2.Bars:

Flat-back barbells are the best choice for your tragus as they have the most space. For people with thinner skin, a 6mm bar will work well. A 8mm bar is suitable for those with thicker ears.

How to measure your ear for perfect fit

There are recommended sizes for tragus, but you should measure your own ear because everyone is different. Follow these instructions to find the right size for you.

Hoops:

  1. Measure the distance between the hole and the edge of your ear with a ruler.
  2. Add 1mm to snug fitting, and 2mm to loose fitting.

Bars:

1.Insert an earring pin into your piercing.

  1. Mark the area where the earring posts should fit on the post.
  2. Measure the length of the removed material with a ruler.

4.Don’t be afraid to go a bit longer so that you don’t exert too much pressure on your piercings.

RECOMMENDED SIZE

Gauge18G(1.0mm)-16G(1.2mm)
Bar Length6mm – 8mm
Inner Diameter5mm – 8mm

Cost of Targus Piercing

Prices for tragus piercing vary from $20 to $50 depending on

  1. The experience at Piercer
  2. The popularity of the studio and its location
  3. Type of jewelry

Aftercare products are not included in the price of piercing. The cost of jewelry can vary greatly, and this could cause it to be quite expensive.

Where to Buy High-Quality Earrings

This is the most common question because earrings shopping is difficult these days. There are many scammers out there who will try to trick you with low quality material that won’t show up again.

Online stores are a great place to purchase earrings, but beware of scammers who sell low-quality items. EricaJewels is an independent brand, specialising in handcrafted body piercing jewelry and sterling silver jewelry. Erica Jewels was named one of the top 1% of sellers in Canada and You can trust.
