Choosing a new career may seem quite daunting, however, it is possible to do so, even later in life. Depending on the role you wish to take, this might involve needing to undergo a bit of education, especially if certain diplomas or certifications are required for you to gain that role. In doing so, you might be able to gain a bit more fulfillment from your working day and find a career path that you are genuinely passionate about.

Due to the amount of remote work that has gone on in the last few years, you may feel that the return to an office simply isn’t right for you. Looking into improving your customer service skills could allow you to take on a remote role liaising with customers. This role may suit those who want to still engage with others throughout the course of their day, but without needing to actively see people. While it could take significantly more time, you might also want to consider retraining as a medical professional. For several years, there have been reports that the US is short on doctors. This might involve you applying directly to a college, or even retaking some of your high school qualifications to enable you to meet minimum requirements. Retraining to become a medical practitioner may not be something that you want to take lightly. 

There could be a number of fees associated with gaining that education, as well as time spent in residencies. However, at the end, you may be able to settle into a well-paid career that helps a variety of different people around you. Prior to applying for training, you may also want to consider if there are any factors, such as criminal history or even your own health, which might prohibit you from gaining a job or carrying out any of the required tasks.
