Top 6 Reasons Why You Should Use Corporate Training Videos

Training is an essential part of every good corporation. You have initial training and orientation as well as continuing education training. There are also new concepts or products training and retraining. All these training programs need to be top-notch to ensure the job gets done correctly. Video training is a great way to take your corporate training to the next level. Using employee training videos helps with professionalism, recognition, attention, understanding, and constancy.

1. Seem More Professional

Including videos in corporate training makes the organization seem more caring and competent. Corporate training videos elevate both the training and the company because they require extra thought, time, and planning. Including a video in training means that companies put in extra time and money to create that training program. This shows that the training itself is important as is treating, instructing, and preparing their employees well.  Videos done by an outside professional video production company are even more impressive and inspire greater confidence too.

2. Put a Face to the Name

Starting a new job is often a nerve-wracking journey. One great way to put new hires at ease and start them off right is to show approachability. Use videos to show that the company is not just a building, but a group of individuals who matter. This is especially important for leaders. Videos are a great way to introduce executives because they are often less intimidating than in-person meetings. Show a video of the business’s leaders talking about their personal company journey, sharing their beliefs and goals, and demonstrating openness and care for the company and its’ people. This will help put trainees at ease and make them feel appreciated.

3. Engage All the Senses

Videos are a great way to get and keep attention during corporate training. They are able to employ all five senses simultaneously. Sight and sound are fairly easy to stimulate by using both images and audio. Smell, taste, and touch may seem a bit more elusive, but video can activate them too. Simply showing another person experience these sensations sometimes allows the seer to sense them too. Engaging all these senses during training helps keep your employees focused on the training and makes potential distractions less likely.

4. Foster Better Learning

Effective training must consider all three types of adult learners. One video production can contain components for each type of learner so that every employee better receives and understands the material. Auditory learners do best when information is spoken aloud and there are interactive discussion sessions. All training videos work well for visual learners, but especially so when they demonstrate tasks or concepts related to each employee’s job. Tactile or kinesthetic learners need to see too, but more specifically they need to see a similar individual actively doing what they are going to do. Kinesthetic learners also learn well by taking notes. Videos greatly aid note-taking by presenting exact words on the screen.

5. Maintain Consistency

Training that changes significantly each time is not very beneficial. Since you produce a video ahead of time, you can perfect it, ensure that it includes everything it needs to, and rest easy knowing that it is the same every time. Humans are fallible creatures so asking an employee or a group of employees to conduct training the same way each time is nearly impossible. Consistency is key to efficient training programs and using video is one of the easiest ways to provide consistent training.

Using training videos will help your organization and its leaders appear more qualified and seem more approachable. They will also help you keep your trainees’ attention, better enable them to acquire the material, and ensure you provide the same training every time. Start using videos for all your training programs and put your company a cut above the rest.
