Introduction
I love the Isle of Palms. It’s a great place to visit, but there are so many things to do here that it can be hard to pick just one activity! We’ve got the entire beachfront at our disposal, and there are tons of activities available for every type of visitor. Here are my top five picks for fun things to do when you’re on vacation in Charleston, SC:
Isle of Palms Beach
IOP is a great place to enjoy the beach. There are many ways to relax, play and be active on your trip to this beautiful island. You can walk along the oceanfront, play volleyball or touch football on the sand and in many cases, you can even rent equipment if you don’t want to bring your own.
If you’re feeling hungry, there are many restaurants that offer seafood dishes ranging from fried fish tacos at Seabreeze Restaurant & Bar or seafood bisque at The Sandbar Restaurant & Bar. If you’re looking for something different from traditional seafood fare then try the vegetarian options like veggie burgers at Two Fat Cats or vegan nachos at Island Creamery Ice Cream Shop & Cafe (which also serves breakfast). Don’t worry if you prefer other cuisines such as Chinese food; IOP has plenty of options for that too!
There’s no shortage of shopping when visiting Isle of Palms so make sure not to miss out on some deals while walking down King Street near Market Square Shopping Center where great shops such as Coastal Carolina T-Shirt Company offer apparel items with beachy themes like flip flops footwear designs printed onto them – perfect if your feet need air after all that walking around town!
Rent a Golf Cart
It is possible to rent a golf cart in Isle of Palms for several days and drive it around the island. The carts are great for getting you from place to place, especially if your feet are tired after all that walking. You can also use them to transport your stuff between your hotel or rental home and the beach/restaurants/shopping areas as needed. Barrier Islands Eco Tours
This tour is the best way to see the barrier islands, and it’s also a great way to meet new people. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their work. The tours are led by local residents who love what they do and go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing experience.
WindJammer
WindJammer is the perfect place to enjoy lunch with friends or family. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is delicious!
The atmosphere is fun, too; you’ll be greeted by an energetic staff who will make sure that you have an excellent time.
Tidalwave Watersports
Rentals and lessons are available for watercraft such as stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and surfboards. Tidalwave Watersports is located in the heart of Isle of Palms at the north end of Ocean Boulevard next to The Beach House (formerly known as The Surfside Hotel). Have questions? Can’t visit IOP without enjoying the surf and sand.
The beaches are the main attraction in IOP. You can rent a golf cart, bike, or kayak to get around the island. Paddle boarding is popular and so is fishing, crabbing and clamming. Surfing is also a big draw on the beach as well as in the water.
