Tips and Tricks of iOS devices

Having an iPhone is not easy as many users face difficulty using and getting familiar with the phone itself. iPhones have a different interface and user experience that differs a lot from Android phones. Unlike Android phones, iPhones are not that simple. So if you’re having difficulty with your iPhone, you’re in the right place. These are some basic tips and tricks for iOS users.

How to close background apps on iOS?

On an iPhone X or any new iPhone, or an iPad with iOS 12 or above, from the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close. Swipe up on the app’s preview to close the app. When your recently used apps appear, the apps aren’t open, but they’re in standby mode to help you navigate and multitask. You should force an app to close only if it’s unresponsive.

Home Button on new iOS.

This home button feature is missing on every new iPhone above iPhone 8. But it’s a good alternative if you really want that home button. All you have to do is go to SettingsAccessibility – Touch and turn on Assistive Touch. A little circle will appear on your screen that brings up a customizable shortcut menu when interacted with. You can set all kinds of different functions such as taking a screenshot which can be activated by taps, swipes, and gestures of your choosing. It’s not the same as having a home button, but it’s really useful for shortcuts.

Charge your iPhone faster.

Sometimes people don’t have enough time to sit and wait for a full charge, well there’s a hack for that. Just switch your iPhone to airplane mode and then plug in the charger. It’ll charge the battery a lot faster than usual.

Keep your battery healthy

Apple has added a new option to its Battery Health feature called “Optimized Battery Charging” which is designed to extend the battery life of a device running iOS 13. According to Apple, the feature slows the rate of battery aging by reducing the time your iPhone spends fully charged. The tool uses machine learning to understand your daily charging routine, so it can wait to finish charging past 80% until you need to use your phone. This way if you’re charging your phone at night, it won’t hold a 100% charge for several hours, which degrades your battery to keep it healthy. To apply this setting,

Tap Settings, scroll down, tap Battery, tap Battery Health, turn the switch to ON.

Turn the iPhone Calculator into a scientific one.

The iPhone calculator is really handy for doing quick sums, but did you know you can expand the calculator’s functions to turn it into a scientific calculator capable of doing all sorts of complex calculations

To do this trick simply open the calculator app and turn your phone to landscape mode.  Just make sure your screen orientation isn’t locked.

How to change your profile picture.

If you want to have a profile picture for when your friends add your info to their contacts, here’s how you set a default profile picture.

Open your Messages app

Tap the”•••” button on the right of your screen

Select Edit Name and Photo

Tap on the profile icon to change your image.

You can snap a photo using the camera, upload a photo from your phone gallery, or you can even use an Animoji or Memoji if you have one.

Group FaceTime

You’ve probably FaceTimed a thousand times with your family and friends, but have you ever FaceTimed any of them at the same time? Here’s how you can do it.

Open the FaceTime app on your iPhone

Tap the + button on the top right of your screen

Enter the name or number of the person you want to call first

Enter up to 30 additional contacts

Tap Video or Audio to place your FaceTime call
