Martin Bobb-Semple is an up-and-coming actor who’s making waves in Hollywood. If you’re an avid TV show fanatic, you’ll likely recognize him as Thomas James Ross in the CW series “Pandora” or Evan on the Peacock Original series “One of Us is Lying.”

However, watch an interview or approach him on the street, and you’ll be surprised to learn that Martin’s accent and dialect change considerably. He’s not from the United States, even though he has the perfect American accent to fit into various roles. Instead, he was born on the other side of the Atlantic in the UK and grew up in London.

Martin’s passion for acting manifested when he was only eight. He always enjoyed watching TV shows and movies, and he would imitate the actors in his living room, pretending to perform on a stage or in front of a camera.

A young Martin Bobb-Semple shared his ambitions of becoming an actor with his parents, especially after telling them he wanted to be a fireman, doctor, teacher, and everything else before, like most children, do. Instead of dismissing his thoughts as the musings of a young child, his parents agreed with him. They believed he had potential because they had witnessed his make-believe performances in their living room.

All Martin needed was some support, and his parents were happy to provide it. They enrolled him in a Saturday stage school in London where he would learn how to sing, dance, and act. The school would prove pivotal in Martin’s development because it helped him audition for his first-ever professional acting job.

Martin auditioned to be part of the West End Musical “Oliver,” and he was accepted to start alongside Rowan Atkinson – the Mr. Bean actor. It was a huge moment for Martin because he idolized the actor. A few months later, he was in front of over 2,000 people every night. This tradition continued for over three years until the show’s run ended. Most children would become jaded after performing the same role for three years, but not Martin.

He knew he had found his calling. His love for acting couldn’t be replicated, and he didn’t want to do anything else. The only change he desired was featuring in a movie or TV show, which prompted him to search for agencies online and seek representation. He would Google famous actors and search for their agents online, contacting them and hoping to hear back from them. Eventually, an agent bit when Martin was 15, and soon he was auditioning for TV shows in the UK.

 

Martin’s a well-known name in the industry today. His exploits have opened up new doors for him, and he’s seeking to continue building on to bigger things. He’s currently working on a production in LA, something he had dreamed of since he was a child.

He’s also very grateful because his acting career has taken him across the world, and Martin loves traveling. He and his friends always take the time to do adrenaline-fueled activities like skydiving in the UK or bungee jumping off buildings in New Zealand. Thus, his professional and personal lives have intertwined perfectly.

Fortunately for Martin, he loves hitting the gym and staying in good shape. He can also rely on his older brother, a personal trainer, for tips and help with workouts.
