You will encounter many awe-inspiring views of the Ozark Mountains with gorgeous ridgetops, calm lakes, and riveting river valleys. Your foray into nature doesn’t have to end here. At the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area, you have more than 1500 acres of woodlands and forests to explore. There are hiking trails too. Can you imagine the connection with nature you’ll feel in this magnificent glade habitat?
Another interesting place to visit is the ‘crown jewel of Table Rock Lake’ – the Dewey Short Visitors Center. You can spend quite a bit of time in this large place just sitting in the comfortable chairs placed on the observation deck just taking in the magnificent views of Table Rock Dam. You can also watch a movie on how the dam was built and check out the wall murals and artifacts.
A place that children especially love to visit is the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. More than a million Brown and Rainbow Trout are produced here in a year to be transferred to Table Rock Lake. You can walk the ‘race ways’ here, enjoy the guided tour and even feed the fish!
There is no dearth of ‘natural’ things to do in Branson. You can explore the Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area next. There is lots to do here with a waterfall, cave, and hiking trails. And if you still want more, you can visit Table Rock Lake State Park after this excursion. There is no admission fee here. Quite a large range of activities are offered here, such as mountain bike trails, hiking, camping, and diving.
