The Guide That Makes It Simple to Create an Instagram Sales Funnel

According to some research, 1 billion people use Instagram. This makes it a great place for you to market your business.

Thanks to Instagram’s new shopping tab capabilities that were added, you can even create the best sales funnel to boost your Instagram sales.

But what components go into making a good digital marketing funnel? Keep reading to find out!

What is a Sales Funnel?

Before you can create a good sales funnel, you need to make sure that you understand what it is. In general, a customer will go on a journey before they decide to purchase something.

In general, they’ll learn about it, and then become interested in it. After doing more research, they’ll start to want it, which is when they become a customer.

So if you’re a business, you’ll need to make sure you’re visible, boost engagement, find some leads, and then close on the sale.

Focus on Engagement

Before you can work on engagement, you’ll have to get a lot of Instagram followers. If you aren’t sure what the right amount is, check around to see how many followers your competition has. But keep in mind that when it comes to getting engagement, you need quality followers rather than quantity.

In order to get your followers to engage with you, you’ll need to engage with them first. You might start by asking for feedback on your product or services. You may also just want to chat with them and connect with them.

If you are a bigger brand, many followers might feel like a celebrity is contacting them when you interact with them. It can also help to give your business a more personal feel as well.

On Instagram, the algorithm is focused on if people are saving or sharing the post. So you may want to focus on creating content that is easily sharable or something that people will want to save to refer back to.

This might be something like a post that has a lot of information packed into it. This means that people could save it so that they could refer back to it later on.

Use Shopify Links

Shopify also lets people buy items right from Instagram now, so you need to focus on incorporating those links as well. This is a great integration because it makes it even easier for customers to buy your products because they don’t even have to leave Instagram to find your website.

However, if you are still wanting to send customers to your website, you can also post a link to your website in your Instagram bio.

You might also want to add links to your stories. However, in order to be able to do that, you’ll have to have a certain amount of followers. You’ll also need to make sure that your account is set up as a business account as well.

If you’re going to post a link in your story, make sure that you say something about it in the story as well. Some users might not realize that there is a link in the story, so make sure that you add a call to action.

You may want to add something like: “Swipe up to take advantage of this sale!”

Make Sure You Have Visibility

If you want people to discover your page, you’ll need to make sure you are using the latest trends and using the algorithm to your advantage.

That means that you need to be creating great content that people will actually share and enjoy. You’ll have to be consistent with posting so that people know you’re actually active.

Many people also love watching Instagram stories, so you should focus on optimizing content for those as well.

You might also want to try using AI, creating reels, focusing on video content, and possibly even collaborating with other popular Instagram businesses or influencers to get your name out there.

Generate Leads

After you’ve started engaging with your followers, you can also start generating more leads to turn them into closed sales.

Even though a customer might say they’re interested, many of them won’t even end up completing a sale. That’s when you have to help give them a little bit of a push.

For example, you could start focusing on advertisements catered to them. Build the anticipation for your product. You may even want to try to add them to an email newsletter list so that you can email them and remind them about the product that you’re offering.

You might even offer to spend some time chatting with them and answering any questions they have about your product. For example, you might want to put something in your bio that offers a free consultation if they’re interested.

You could even put a code in your bio that will help you track how many leads are actually generating. For example, if you’re selling bracelets, you could have customers use code “bracelet” from your bio so that you can see who’s actually looking at your products on Instagram.

You could also try using the Polls feature on Instagram. You can ask your followers yes or no questions, but if you want to generate even more leads, you can remove the no option.

For example, if you ask people if they have used your new Instagram code for bracelets, you can have the answers be “yes” or “Send me the code.” This way people are even more incentivized to buy from you. You can then look and see who answered your polls and send them the codes for your business.

On the list of people who answered, there will also be a triangle icon next to their name. This lets you message them directly, and you can send as many links to them as you want to help you close the sale. Just make sure that you don’t spam them, or they may not want to interact with your business.

Use a Call-to-Action

Call-to-actions are great for blogs, but they can work on Instagram as well if you use them in creative ways. Instagram doesn’t give you a lot of space or characters to add extra text, so you need to make sure that you use all the available space you have.

For example, add links, texts, and directions for where customers should go or what they should do after they’ve reviewed your Instagram.

If you have a website, you might want to add at the bottom of your post to do something like: “Go to my bio and click on the link for my website!”

Your call-to-action doesn’t always have to bring people to your product’s website page. You can promote pretty much anything you want, but you just want to ensure that people are engaging with your website.

Instagram limits how many links you can put in your bio though. However, you can use different paid tools to increase how many links you can add in.

Close the Sale

Once you’ve got a lead, you’ll have to realize who has the potential to be an actual customer. This is when you start moving to help close the sale. This might be using a one-on-one conversation, but this could be difficult when your business starts growing.

You could also try doing a live launch to interact with a bunch of customers at once. If you don’t want to do a live broadcast, you can also address questions in your story. Read through some of your post’s comments and figure out what objections people might have to buy your product.

For example, if your customers think your product is too expensive, you can address why it’s not in your stories. This right persuades some people to decide to actually buy your product.

If you’re a brand new business, focus on the launch of your product. You might want to run a webinar, create ads, or even offer an in-person event.
