As a member, you must select a “home resort.” You can pick any resort under the DVC umbrella and you will receive preferential booking at the resort. You may be able to book a reservation months in advance of your vacation.

As a member, you receive an annual allotment of points. The more money you spend, the more points you can receive. 

You pay for your vacation using your points. Some resorts charge higher fees than others, and vacations during high-demand seasons also require more points.

You can borrow points from your following year’s allotment so you can pay for a vacation in the current year. You cannot borrow points from other people, and you cannot buy more points as the year goes on.

Points can roll over, but only if you bank them. You must tell the DVC during the first eight months of the year that you want to bank your points. You can use your banked points the following year, but not the year after.
