In the US, Teen Car Crash drive less than adults. However, the number of crash deaths and car accidents is very high. The fatal accident rate per mile for 15-19 years old is three times more than drivers of age 20 and over.

Luckily, programming such as graduate license laws and drivers education have lowered the total number of passengers and teen drivers involved in an accident.

Distracted living is an issue of growing concern. Sending text messages or talking on the phone contributes a lot to most distracted driving accidents.

Due to the increasing risks of distracted driving, the law expects teens to enroll in driver courses or education programs.

Of the young drivers in the car accidents, 26 were rural drivers, and 31 were urban. Though most DUI car accidents don’t involve teenagers.

Keeping Teenage Drivers Safe

A perfect way to prevent being account for the teenager’s accidents is to keep them safe from a car accident in the first place.

Many experts and advisors at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration suggest some of the following ways to keep teens safe:

  • Set penalties for bad driving behaviors
  • Reduce nighttime driving
  • Share teenage car accident statistics
  • Set a perfect example when driving

Although teenage driving statistics are among the major concerns, teen drivers in the US and globally are safer daily because of the motorcycle tech boom.

Regardless of being in a position to stay in the lane and brake, it is important to cover the basics. This includes fastening the seatbelt, don’t take alcohol and drive, and avoiding texting when driving.
