Spice up Your Routine: 5 Fun Workouts to Try

It’s recommended that to keep in the best shape, you should work out for thirty minutes each day. That means you’ll spend almost 200 hours of your year getting physically fit.

With so much time spent working on your fitness, it can be easy to fall into a workout rut. Getting enough exercise is important for both your body and mind. With so many different types of exercise out there, you don’t have to dread putting on your sneakers each day.

We go over five fun workouts that you’ll get excited to do every day.

  1. Take a Hike

Get out in the great outdoors with a hike through nature. This active activity is a terrific way for people of all fitness levels to connect with the outdoors.

Before you get out there, you’re going to want to decide on the type of trail you will hike. Anything from a gentle path to a steep rocky mountain will give you prominent health benefits.

Finding a hiking trail can improve your mental health by reducing any stress you may be feeling. Being outdoors can also help improve your senses because they all get a workout when you are outside.

Hiking is an activity that you can do with other people. Grab a group or a friend and enjoy talking and strengthening your relationship. The challenge of a hike is another way to build bonds between you and your hiking companions.

America has hundreds of state parks for you to explore, each with its own natural beauty. Find one close by or plan a road trip and experience all that hiking can offer.

  1. Grab a Paddle

Workout out on the water is a refreshing new way to get yourself in shape. You can take part in water exercise both on and in the water.

Paddleboarding has recently taken the exercise world by storm. This exercise involves standing on a wide paddleboard and using a long oar to move forward.

This exercise works everything from the upper and lower body and core. One of the greatest things about this exercise is how easy it is! Anyone of any age or fitness level can take part in this activity.

There are several ways to use your paddleboard for a workout. You can take to a serene lake and navigate the waters at your own pace. Try a yoga lesson balanced on these boards for a more intense workout.

Another water sport you can take advantage of is kayaking. This sport involves sitting in a small boat and using a double-sided paddle to move forward.

Kayaking works your forearms, biceps, and abdominal muscles. This is a perfect workout for your upper body as you will use your arms to move the boat forward in the water.

You can choose how intense you want your kayak workout to be. Find a calm river to make your way down at your own pace. Work through small rapids or travel against the tide for a more intense challenge.

Whatever water sport you choose, make sure you are prepared before you go. Bring a life vest, water, and snacks, and make sure to wear your sunscreen.

  1. Dance It Out

You don’t have to be a great dancer to have fun moving and grooving at a dance class! Participating in a fun dance workout burns calories and improves the brain.

Odds are you will be dancing with a class when you sign up for this exercise. You’ll get to make new friends and meet people from different walks of life when you sign up for a dance class.

There are many types of dance that you can try out if you are just getting started. Give salsa or swing dance a try if you want to focus on cardio.

One of the most fun core workouts is the Zumba dance. This exercise combines dancing with high-intensity movements for a full-body workout.

  1. Mix Up Your Yoga

Yoga on its own is a powerful exercise that can help work both your mind and body. For a unique twist on this practice, take to the sky with aerial yoga. This fun workout has its students doing yoga movements as they float through the air.

When you join in aerial yoga, you will be using a hammock-like swing, like  Gravotonics Yoga Swings, hung from the ceiling to hold your poses. You can then maneuver the swing to work different body parts as you go through the class.

Because you are in the air, you can get into much deeper poses. This helps improve your flexibility and gives your muscles more of a stretch. Hanging from the ceiling is also much easier on the joints.

This low-intensity activity is excellent for people of all ages and abilities. You’ll have so much fun defying gravity that you’ll forget that you are even working out.

  1. Unleash Your Inner Kid

For some fun workouts at home, reach back into your memory and have fun doing the things you loved as a kid. Rollerblading is a whimsical type of exercise that can get you moving. You can improve your balance and help your heart out with one of the most fun cardio workouts there is.

Do you remember jumping rope on the playground as a kid? Jumping rope is an excellent way to get your heart up quickly. A jump rope is not only easy to take with you but can be used in many ways, depending on your intended workout.
