Simple Classroom Organizational Tools for Teachers

No matter what grade you teach, all teachers know that keeping a classroom difficult is like homework of its own. Luckily, there are a few inexpensive tools that teachers can use to keep their classroom a little more organized. Below are some of the best tools to use, as well as tips on how to use them to get the most out of them.

File Cabinets

When you need to store away private papers, such as student’s graded papers and answer keys, using file cabinets works best. File cabinets can usually be locked and are almost always made of a durable metal. This makes it both impossible for students to see anything in the file cabinet and next to impossible for students to break into the file cabinet. As a bonus, it’s easy to organize everything inside of a file cabinet. This can be done with the use of hanging folders, dividers, and a variety of labels.

Organizational Racks

If you want to organize things that the students are allowed to have access to, then you may want to consider using an open rack. These racks do not have locks on them and are usually easy for students to see inside of. Teachers can use these to store items students may need to use (extra papers, scissors, coloring supplies, etc.) or use them as mailboxes for students to submit their homework. No matter what a teacher uses them for, they make for great organizational tools.

Whiteboard Tape

If you have extra whiteboards in your room, you may want to use one of them to make a class schedule. This can help to keep students up-to-date with what is happening in class. It can be especially helpful for when a student misses a day of class. There are a few kinds of tape that work well on whiteboards, meaning they can be removed easily without leaving marks on the board. These include masking tape, electrical tape, and magnetic board tape. Since magnetic tape is specifically made for this sort of this, it is the best choice. However, the other tapes are less expensive and still work pretty well. All of these kinds of tapes usually come in a variety of colors and widths as well.

You can use these three tools to organize your classroom. This can help to benefit both students and teachers. As a bonus, all of these tools are pretty inexpensive!
