Quick and Cheap Redecorating Tips

Buying a house can be a difficult and lengthy process, and your dream home might not be exactly as you’d like it when you first move in. So, you may have to do a little bit of work before you can get properly settled. But the issue is, often when we have just bought a house we are completely broke and don’t have two pennies to rub together at all, so the last thing we want to be doing is spending a whole lot more straight away. However, a lot of the time we will make changes in time and we need some cheap and quick ways to improve things for the short term and so we can feel at home quickly. So how exactly do we do this? Well as long as you’re prepared for a bit of a project, then there’s no reason this can’t be enjoyable and permanent. With all this in mind, we do need to spend a bit of time getting things in nice condition. The main thing to remember is to work with what you’ve got and sometimes the cheapest and most simple options can have the biggest impact.

Paint

It goes without saying that most of the time, your interior just needs a fresh coat of paint even if it feels like it needs more. Even a small lick of paint will improve the look of things. The best part is that it is relatively inexpensive and easy to do and can make the biggest impact and a guarantee to improve things. If you don’t want painted walls, then a statement wall is a fantastic way of adding character to your space and these can be made through DIY, that’s right cheaply! Paint doesn’t just work with walls either, painting old furniture and the ceilings can make things look brand new and it costs no more than a tin of paint!

Re-assess

Before you spend any money, look at what you already have and check there’s nothing you can do with what you’ve got already. Swapping furniture around from other rooms is a good place to start, there may be something from another room that works perfectly in the room you’re looking at redoing and you didn’t even realise! Also moving the furniture around can have the same effect…

Artwork

Looking for a quick and easy fix for those plain walls, but don’t want to spend loads? Then artwork is great. You’re probably thinking this comes at a high price, however this doesn’t need to be the case. You can get cheap artwork from charity shops and perhaps create your own, just get some fancy frames.

De clutter

Nothing substitutes decluttering and of course is completely free. No matter how posh and luxurious your home maybe, it won’t be appealing unless you have a good old de clutter. Keep your surfaces clear of all clutter and clean spaces and edges make for a fresh contemporary look.

Flooring

If you’re looking to redo the floors, there’s no real way round it than to reach into your pocket. With this being said, you can be smart with the flooring type, for example laminate being much more affordable than options such as wood flooring.
